I’ve tried to deny I liked him but I found myself magnetized. I catch him staring sometimes, although not as much as he used too. He helped my brother who has special needs and I told my friend I wanted to hug him. She told him and he leaned over and looked into my eyes. I said “Oh I was just being stupid.” The next time I saw him he was chivalrous and he hugged me and gave me a high five and said “there u go” and looked at my face for a reaction. I rolled my eyes. Months later we had to talk in class and he looked into my eyes without looking away and told me all I said was “good idea.” He laughed at my jokes, even when I wasn’t trying to be funny. Then I felt happy and got quiet he asked me “Are you okay?” I melted, I nodded and said nothing. Another time I complimented him in front of his friends and he said “thank you” and acted really flirty. His eyes sparkled and he ran his hands through his hair and fixed his clothes looking into my eyes. I kept a straight face and looked away. He was sweet to me and my mom. She told me that he liked me. I was walking down the hallway and his rude brother said “Ohh danng mhmm..” and both of them checked me out. (this is not the first time they have done that) Another guy was flirting with me and he stared at me intensely without looking away until I left. Another time he said hello to the other girls and walked up to me, and extended his hand. I had painted nails and he looked at my hands and at me and his eyes sparkled and he was really flirty. He sat in front of me and acted really overly confident. Later he walked up to me when I was talking to my friends. I was shy, so I just ignored him. He’s flirted with other girls, and they liked him back, so he probably moved on. I don't know, I just can’t help but like him..

My friend and I graduate in two months. We've been friends all four years but got very close this past year. About a year ago, I realized I had a crush on him. That ended in November when I said it out loud and he friend zoned me.
After that, I tried to be like a dude friend, but he insisted on acting like we always had, play fighting, teasing, being touchy feely, basically doing things I call flirting. In my mind this stuff causes sexual tension, so I don't want to do it if he's not into me. I told him this and he said that's how people act when a crush falls through. I don't get that at all.
Two weeks ago he showed me an old yearbook pic of me he had found and put on his phone. He works in the school lib and I guess went through old yearbooks looking for pix of me. He was showing it to all our friends, looking for some kind of reaction, but no one had one. The pic is from middle school but I think it's cute. I don't have braces anymore, my hair is shorter and I've lost weight, but people, including him, say I'm pretty and cute now.
I just don't understand why he has this pic still and why he shows it to people. I asked him and he said it's funny because I don't look like that anymore. Well, duh. I've seen old dorky pics of him that he's sent me.
Is he trying to make fun of me for how I used to look? If he's not into me, why go to the trouble to look through old yearbooks, take a pic on his phone, show it around and keep it?
When I told him I liked him last fall and tried to kiss him he said we coukd kiss at graduation, as friends. Last week he asked if I still wanted that, but before I could answer, he said he would still go through with it but he was dreading it. So I said forget and got hurt.
Is he just being a giant dick? If he thinks I'm pretty, why would he "dread" one kiss? I fee like he's always trying to neg me and make me feel bad.

In one of my classes, I sit by three of the most outgoing, popular guys, & I'm starting to get confused about my feelings for a guy who sits to the left of me.

The two of us aren't really in the same social groups (I'm pretty well-liked but not as popular as him), but we still talk a lot. One of his friends was telling the class an embarrassing story about the guy to my left, who then wanted to tell it from his POV. Instead of telling the whole class, he turned to me specifically, and when I looked at his friend telling the story, the guy to my left said "No, don't look at/listen to him! Just look at me. Just focus on me." When people asked him why he was just telling me, he said that he only really cared what I thought.

I work really hard in school and people think I'm smart, and when people were joking about me getting a high grade, the guy subtly defended me & told them they shouldn't be laughing just because I did well. Although he doesn't do his work, it seems like he's suddenly started asking the teacher more questions during class.

He also does things like really laugh at all my jokes, yell out funny things when I jokingly tell him to, and joked that he was afraid of me since I was smart (which I didn't think was a good sign haha).

What do you take from this? I know we're at least pretty good friends, but is that all I should think? I've been thinking that I could at most be a friend to him since he is popular (in the sense of stuff like going to parties every weekend, being really well-known in school, etc). Is there any way I should/could test where we stand?

I've been talking to this guy for a while now. He's in a lot of my classes and we usually sit right next to each other. He looks at me a lot during classes. I got his number a couple of weeks ago, and I trended him on FB this week.

He started messaging me this week and we've talked on and off all day long for the past 2 days. We were already sort of close at school, but he's really begun to one up to me. I opened up to him about a few things and then asked him what his first impression of me was. I asked because I wanted to know if he thought differently of me now that he's gotten to know me better. He told me that he thought I was really nice, funny, and pretty.

Why did he say that?

I'm only asking because he just doesn't seem like the type of guy to say those things. I wasn't even asking or thinking that he was going to compliment me. It completely took me by surprise hen he said that. I can't tell if he was flirting or just being nice.
