My aunt was raised with overprotective parents. They wouldn't even let her sleepover not even with a female friend. She would secretly date her HS sweetheart. Her uncle caught them making out once and made a big scene, dragging her all the way home, yelling about how that's not how young ladies behave, told her parents about it, etc. She got banned from seeing her boyfriend. Her parents were too focused on her waiting till marriage, never drinking nor smoking, that type of upbringing.

Result:
She didn't wait till marriage.
Her HS sweetheart wasn't her first and only boyfriend ever.
She was into parties for a bit as an adult, enjoying the freedom she never had.
She married her 4th boyfriend, a very liberal man.

Liberal/permissive style
She and her husband only had a daughter and she was raised in the liberal manner. She was allowed to go on camping trips and excursions (far from home) with friends, went out on a date at the age of 14 for the first time, didn't have a curfew and at the age of 16 got lectured about safe sex. My aunt didn't want to make the same mistake her family did to her.

Result:
She got pregnant at the age of 18 with her 3rd boyfriend.
Her ex boyfriend still pays child support and is in contact with the child often.
She's now 27, married with another guy and they have 2 kids.
My aunt and her husband thinks they exceeded on her liberalism.

Obviously neither extreme is good but which do you think is worse? Overprotective or very liberal parents?

Right before quarantine, matched with a guy on tinder, and got to go on a coffee date, we hit it off right away and there was a lot of chemistry. After the first date, he seemed very interested on seeing me again and asked me several times but we never got the chance because my country went on mandatory lockdown very soon after. At first, we kept texting like normal, but as the quarantine prolonged we started talking less and less. After about a week of not talking, I texted him and he genuinely seemed happy to hear from me (he mostly replies by sending voice notes so I can tell when he's laughing or smiling when we talk). The problem is that after a week of texting he just stopped responding (he had asked me a question and I answered and asked something back, and he hasn't even opened that message), and since I'm a very prideful person, I didn't try to reach out again. About a week later he was looking through my Instagram profile and he accidentally liked a picture from a year ago and later texted me "sorry, didn't mean to like that picture". I told him no worries but he didn't respond to that either. Its been a couple of weeks since then. I'm honestly not reaching out because I prefer to get to know him in person, and I think there's no point in texting him again if we can't meet up. For now, I'm going to focus on myself and forget about this situation but my question here is, when this is all over and we are allowed to go out and meet up again, would it be weird if I texted him out of the blue again to see if he wants to hang out? We have to take into account that at this point months could have gone by without any contact. Would you find it weird or would you maybe be into it if it was you?
