Search Results: when you see an attractive woman

So let's imagine our hypothetical guy. He finished high school and enrolled university. He is broke, which made him ugly. He's skinny because he's broke (or he's fat because of a few bad habits). He's short because his body determined it for him. And he's broke because his parents don't give him enough money even for food while the family is supposedly being low class.

BUT!!! But he is certainly not stupid.

So he decided to take a grip on his life. He's studying in university, applying for jobs (or working as an intern), spending all his salary just to live by himself and not having to starve and eating healthy a lot (fruits and vegetables and cooking meals) (or breaking his habits, which make him fat). And he's looking into fashion somewhat to see how he can make himself attractive with haircuts/hairstyles, beards (or lack thereof), clothing, jewels and so on. About being short he's not able to do anything.

And he just started it because he was trapped in high school until he became an adult.

How much time is needed in order for him to turn attractive to women if he is persistently disciplined about these changes?

At the end of a first date, what makes you decide that you want a second date? If you are just looking for casual sex, you are probably looking for someone who has a similar desire and who is at least moderately attractive to you. If you are dating to find a long term relationship, maybe you are looking for someone chivalrous. Maybe you are looking for someone who would be an ideal father/mother to your children. Perhaps intelligence is most important. Most of us actually have a combination of factors that lead us to selecting our long term mate, but there may be one factor that is just a bit more important than others.

I want a woman who is at least mildly attractive to me, but she MUST be a kind and gentle soul, and she MUST have above average intelligence. At the end of a first date, what is the factor that makes you think, "Wow! I really want to see him/her again! I haven't felt this way in. . . almost forever!"?

I don't know what the dating world is like anymore. Frankly, I'm not interested right now. Most of my attention goes to getting ready for my career. Once I've become the best damned massage therapist I can be, and start making decent money, I'll probably have a tentative interest in dating, but sex and romance have just never been huge priorities for me.

Joining GaG, I expected sexual questions to be a major focus. There's all kinds of experiences regarding how the opposite sex feels and feels about things that I am ravenous to know more about. I did not expect to see so many people on here winging about how hard it is to find a SO.

I can't stand this "Nobody settles for average guys" rhetoric I've seen on the front page twice in as many days now. I don't think there's even an inkling of truth to it. I don't like to rate people, it seems dehumanizing, but suffice to say I've known a lot of guys who are married to women most people would consider to be way out of their league, and vice versa. Not just in terms of looks, but when it comes to intellect, finances and charm.

It just seems like a big ol' pity party, and I can't stand that. I'm not super-handsome. I'm an oddball. I used to be super-skinny, but my metabolism is slowing down, and I feel fat now. My frame is still long and relatively skinny, but I've definitely got a bit of a belly; that's super-attractive, right? Just some gangley, fleshy boulder? xD I'm almost totally broke, I live at home, and I have to pinch every penny I have, because I'm constantly worried my financial aid won't be enough to get me through my degree and certification.

And... I still get interested looks, and the occasional flirting semi-regularly. Am I crazy? Is it possible I'm just incredibly, devilishly charming?

Enough listening to me talk. Is it really that hard to get a date now if you put yourself out there? Do you think their standards are too high, or they're just not meeting enough/the right people?
