First off, me and my boyfriend been together for nearly a year now (we had past relationships but this is both our first long term relationship). Anyway, so he knows my birthday is coming up this week. He remembered few weeks ago and asked me "what do you want for your birthday?" and I said "umm I dont know.."
And then yesterday he asked me again. And again i replied "i actually dont know.." and then he goes "tell me so I can get it for you" and then I just said "i dont really know.. you should surprise me" and then he replies "i dont know what to get you. i know you like bags, shoes and all that. but you gotta tell me what specifically. or else im just gonna give you a birthday card" and then I was just upset after that. I mean.. I hear some of my friends' boyfriends surprising them with birthday gifts and all and giving them flowers. And then here I am, and my boyfriend asking me what I want. he's not romantic at all :(
Then I just told him "I want to go to this shoe store and its on sales. Can we go there?" and then he said "yeah we can go, and pick whatever you want but dont go overboard. I'll pay"
Should i be upset about this? he's not even trying to impress me or anything.. Im a little jealous of the girls that have boyfriends that surprises them with gifts and flowers. Does this mean he doesn't care about me? 😔😔

It's my boyfriend's birthday tomorrow and I was wondering if I should get him a gift. He isn't very materialistic, and we're not a typical couple. Not very romantic or sappy. We just really care about each other. I'm in college and don't really have money to spend freely. But would a cute love letter with pics of us be okay? I'm actually 19, not 15 yo.
