Descriptions

The Legionary: The civilized gentleman. Discipline, loyalty and virtue are core values, he is the sophisticated man who reins in his uncouth impulses and urges in favor of "dignitas". The legionary man believes in the rules of society (most often) and gladly adheres to them. Structured and organized in life, ambitious in his career and life, the legionary aims to uphold, protect and serve purposes greater than himself. The legionary man has no issue nor shame about being openly subservient to a higher power, be it his earthly government or his faith. For he sees the larger picture of life and realizes the folly of pride and self-enhancement.

The barbarian: The rugged bad boy. The barbarian is the wild soul, the untamed and the dangerous. The barbarian man embodies raw strength and brutal courage, he's the free spirit who does not play by the book and sees greater value in doing what he believes to be right at any time. Freedom, following the heart and originality are his creeds. The barbarian can be an unpredictable man, but it does not make him a bad man. He is his own master, and will not kneel to anyone simply because of societal notions. He fights for what he believes is the immediate good of himself and those he loves. The barbarian sees nothing wrong with natural impulses and urges and can often let himself be guided by them.

I'm not referring to someone trying to get in a relationship and failing constantly. I'm referring to staying single on purpose out of a desire/feeling to - is it something that should be discouraged? Does it depend on the reasoning for wanting to stay single? If so, how?

I ask because...
- When someone asks a question about feeling like they're missing out on relationships/sex, people often console them with saying they 'aren't missing out on much' or something along the lines of that. If a younger person says they aren't interested, however, a common response is 'just wait, it'll happen'
- I think most people tend to look for long term relationships to settle in before a certain age.
- There is arguably societal pressure to have a relationship (and/or sexual experience) by a certain age, else being deemed a "loser" or equivalent. Hence, "forever alone" memes, "30 year old virgin," crazy cat lady jokes, etc.

For reference, while I'm single now, I have been in various relationships before. This is just a stray 'shower thought' I'm curious on. This isn't meant to be a personal-advice question.

Honestly, I see everyone else somehow still having such a good life in this shitty year while I'm over here suffering so much struggling and misery with several dozens of missed bills, several months of unemployment, and failing and withdrawing a lot of University college courses throughout this entire fucking year. I'm still living with my parents because of money issues. I fucking my life!
