A recent politician in my country spoke out on women's choice in picking of men in a reactive response towards a recent incident in which a young, successful black woman had her throat slit and was killed outside her store by her boyfriend.
Women became very upset by this using things like "never blame the victim" and saying that the minister is a misogynist/ass hole for criticising women's picking of partners.
