Power Station were a Duran Duran’s side project including Robert Palmer as lead singer. They had 2 hits back then wid “Some Like It Hot” and “Get It On”…their self-titled album was gr8 as well.

Arcadia were another Duran Duran’s side project, and their album “So Red The Rose” was even better than many of their albums they released as Duran Duran in my opinion

Latin Quarter were an 80s left-wing pop-rock group, mostly known 4 their single “Radio Africa”. Apart from this they had many other nice songs. They were kinda more successful in Germany though, havin more hits beyond “Radio Africa”, both their albums “Modern Times” and “Mark and Caroline” were gr8.

Easterhouse was another pop-rock group wid similar-themed lyrics. Their most known hit was “Nineteen Sixty Nine”. Beyond dat this band is pretty unknown. But their album “Contenders” was pretty good.

Dream Academy were a dream-pop/new-wave band of dat era as well. “Life In A Northern Town” was a big-hit back then. “Love Parade” was also a minor-hit. But their debut self-titled album was gr8 generally…especially “New Light” song. :D

Kajagoogoo were a synth-pop band mostly popular for their song “Too Shy”, and their weird haircuts of course. Apart from this hit they had some other good songs though. After da release of their first album Limahl followed a solo-career realisin a hit called “Never Ending Story”.

King were another pop group active in mid-80s known for their hit “Love & Pride”. Very underrated band, coz apart from this hit their albums had many gr8 other songs. After their break-up Paul King released a solo-album…. then l8r he became a VJ

New wave bands, active in early-80s. They’d b considered 1-hit wonders mostly. Their most famous hits were “Turning Japanese”,”I’m In Love With A German Film Star” and “Cry Boy Cry” respectively. Although they had many nice songs beyond those. Like “Letter From Hiro” or “Magnets”, da 2 closin tracks from Vapors’ albums “New Clear Days” and “Magnets” respectively.

Haircut 100 were an 80s new-wave/jazz-pop band mostly known 4 their songs “Favorite Shirts” and “Love Plus One”. Their album “Pelican West” was pretty good. It had some other nice songs beyond those 2.

Not a big-fan of Nick Heyward’s solo works though…but his album “I Love You Avenue” contained a really nice AOR song called “Change Of Heart”. And “Pizza Tears”…just for its title :p

JoBoxers were another band similar sound-wise wid Haircut 100…they had only 1 known hit called “Just Got Lucky”…although their entire album “Like Gangbusters” was gr8 in my opinion.

indie/pop-rock bands from da 80s….. Housemartins were somewot popular wid their single “Happy Hour” in the mid-80s and some other hits…. after breakin up, singer Paul Heaton formed Beautiful South…. pretty good, but Housemartin’s were kinda better :D

Prefab Sprout were a late 80s pop-rock band that had some hits during that era as well…mostly “King Of Rock ‘n Roll” (I loved the music video of this song as well 8) ) Manhattan”, and ”Cars and Girls”
