Just over a year after being cleared of a terror charge in Dec 2018, when he'd slashed police with a sword outside Buckingham Palace while shouting "Allahu Akbar", 28yo Mohiussunnath Chowdhury, from Luton, has been convicted of planning terrorist acts. Undercover officers posing as like-minded extremists placed him under surveillance during a five-month operation, and the former Uber driver unwittingly revealed his plots to them, speaking about targeting attractions including Madame Tussauds, the gay Pride parade and a tourist bus.

The chicken shop worker prepared by lifting weights, practicing stabbing and beheading techniques, booking shooting range training sessions and trying to acquire a real gun. He collected knives for an attack, looked into firearms training, and even made a list of what he was going to do when he got to heaven- with the 1st thing on his to-do list being a tour of the palace he assumed he would be given, and the 2nd being to meet, sexually enslave and consummate his relationship with 72 wives. Meeting Allah only ranked 7th on his list; and his 10th task of life in the hereafter was "choose quests to embark on".

Chowdhury's defence barrister had argued the university drop-out was a "pathetic little man" and an "attention-seeker" who "talks and talks, but doesn't do". Chowdhury also dismissed his praise of the murder of soldier Lee Rigby as "jihadi banter" and said his weapons training came from a fascination with martial arts and weightlifting. But prosecutors said he desired to "unleash death and suffering" on non-Muslims; recordings showed him bragging to the undercover officers about deceiving the jury at his first trial- when he'd told them that he "only wanted to be killed by police" and "didn't intend to harm anyone"- and telling them that he was "free to attack one million unbelievers" if he was fighting for "the pleasure of Allah".

So then- how common do you think that such 'Jihadincels' are? Are they the exception, or the rule?
