Standards are a set of conditions you require to date (marry, have sex with, etc.) someone, which can be set as high or as low as you want. The problem is they come with risks. Higher standards mean fewer options and also increase your chances of not finding anyone. Lower standards mean more options but also increases the likelihood of ending up with someone undesirable. In addition to that, the individuals that exceed your standards also tend to have high standards. The higher their standards are the less likely you are to attract them. So with all of this in mind explain and justify what standards you believe are necessary for dating? Sex? Marriage?

From my question which addresses a recent article in which women complains they just aren't enough single guys for them.

In the above article, many women do not want to date guys who did not have a college degree basically writing them off as potential mates. With more girl's graduating college than men, many women now have a shortage of guys who they would actually choose to go out with. It may seem now that if men aren't the total package women just don't want them. i. e. Tall, RICH, Handsome and well educated.

This leads me to my question: Do women these days who complain about being single, or guys not approaching them just voluntarily place themselves in that situation because they don't acknowledge the advances of men who aren't up to their standards.


It seems modern day women would rather place themselves in a state of victimhood than try to change themselves and lower their ridiculous standards for men.

I have something that made me lose hair at 18 and have to shave bakd, yeah kinda self conscious but pulled it off okay so figured I could still find an attractive girl who'd find me attractive (looks so matter people) but I seen a bunch of hate towards Adam Levine for shaving his head and now am wondering, is bald really a turn off to you girls? Be honest I am with my higher standards but I only want ones I won't lower them, (being said I actually could date a bald girl if she were slender and had a beautiful face as those are the two musts for me) so please be honest

I think guys actually wouldn't mind dating a chubby girl. I think woman have higher standards on looks then men. I'm kinda chubby and most girls like talking to me but they always say no when I ask them out. Now hear what I'm about to say. I'm NOT saying that girls should lower their standards by any means. If you like fit men then that’s who you like and you shouldn't change that. okay? but I've seen way more guys with chubby girls them I EVER see a girl with a chubby guy. and when I say chubby I mean a little fat but not way over weight or anything. I'm losing weight by exercising and watching what I eat. but it would be so much better if a girl would just give me a chance and help encourage me to keep going. but yeah, do you think girls care more about what a guy looks like then men do for girls?

I'm a guy who's 20 and for over a year now shavef my head bald, I kinda had to given things going down at that time... anyway it's still like that and I probably will always have to keep it that way, I'm self conscious of it yeah but never once even considered lowering my standards on a gorls looks etc or thoigh Id have to settle, yet I searched bald on this site and there was a ton of questions from guys with a lot of girls saying bald guys were ugly or even worse than fat guys!! That blew my mind, I figured a gal might prefer hair yeah but never thought it'd be a dealbreaker over a guys other assets (my face and eyes get regular compliments) so girls is being bald really a turn off?
