This guy who I share some history with won't ever talk to me when we're alone in a room and in fact, will pretty much act like I don't exist-- however, whenever a third person is in the room and that third person and I engage in conversation, he always waits until the other person says something that makes me either lose a conversation or is poking fun of me (not in a mean way) before jumping in by laughing at me or making a comment that opposes whatever I am trying to say. I don't mind him trying to join the conversation, but he ignores me when we are alone and then only interjects in the conversation to make snide comments or poke fun at me. My friends think its because he still has a thing for me. Quite honestly though, I don't understand why a guy would do this if he likes someone... all it does is frustrate and make me want to yell at him. One time I even got a little mad and we were on the verge of an argument when the third party person stopped it and he muttered something about me being the one that keeps getting 'defensive'. What the heck is his deal? Is this normal guy behavior?
