I consider myself a high functioning adult these days; I was a professional "Composer/Recording Artist" for a number of years after gaining a PhD in Music Composition from Birmingham Conservatoire. However the money was sporadic at best so I changed careers and became a Chef, quickly rising through both the ranks and up the quality spectrum over 10 years to eventually become a Sous Chef at a 2* Michelin Establishment in London. However due to relationship responsibilities picking up (my fiance is a doctor and we both work 16hr days). Which would make having Kids... tricky to say the least. So I changed career again so I could maybe work from home. So now I am training to be an Ethical Hacker (Cyber Security Engineer). Anyway, my point is, most out people out there whom I have worked with, have always considered me very capable/dependable. So when they eventually find out that I come from a highly abusive background, they get taken aback... and some have even accused me of outright lying about it...( I can only assume that this is because "in their mind" you can't come from that kind of background and be anything other than dysfunctional...) Unusually, it's also often Women who have accused me of lying about this... and I am really not sure why... Guys tend to take it at face value (or even give me "props for not letting it affect me"). To clarify, my mum was diagnosed with Cancer when I was about 3, and my father was away on business abroad a lot, so I was only ever with her (watching her slowly fall apart), she died when I was 6.. my dad remarried, who I can only describe as a sociopath, she emotionally/mentally and physically abused me, gaslighting at every opportunity to make me and my father think we were loosing the plot.. I spent a lot of time believing I was having "black outs" because I couldn't remember hurting myself in the way she said..(because it was her). To this day I struggle a lot with trusting women.. I have to force myself to not assume the worst

I've known this girl online for over 6 years, she's older than me and we use to date off and on. But we have mainly just been friends because she kept breaking up and wanting to get back together online.

Whenever she would break up with someone she would message me in a flirtatious way. A little over a year ago I had a close family member to pass while we were in a relationship and she broke up with me while I was dealing with that situation not making matters any good.

She also would tell me about guys she's dated or is dating and she would always message me about how she can't find a guy to date while breaking up with someone every other week.

She would as me for photos which I sent but she never sent me a photo of herself only once years ago, but whenever she would ask me I'd ask her if she would send me one of her since I did and she said she would but never did. She even gave me her phone number once and different people answered the phone as she said she lived with her parents. So I'm guessing it was her family picking up the house phone and not her actual number.

She recently gave me another number but always asked why I didn't call her and I told her I didn't feel comfortable giving out my number but gave her an email alias to contact me through which she never did.

She sent me a screenshot of something on her phone but I'm guessing didn't realize her messages showed with someone sending the message "Hey b***e (guys name)" So I researched her name and location and many people live there and showed someone in their 50s by her name lived at the address, was able to locate by phone number, and also a relative named (with the guys name) lived across the country.

So as of today she deactivated her account online not informing me, whenever I would make a new account or take a break I would tell her since we were friends.

It's got so bad on this site for people arguing and picking fights that 1/2 the time now I don't even read comments people make to anything I do here. It's got that bad. And I don't feed into it either. Just no maturity or respect for others opinion. And if you don't want to hear the comments/opinions, leave the site! LOL Who agrees?

If someone drops money they will pick it up, obviously.
Some people pick up trash after themselves but others are like, well... thats not mine now while some literally use the ground as trash.
One of my high school class mates once found a shoe in a bush, then i also remember watching a youtube vid about this stuff and they found a monitor on the beach, like wtf.
It’s kinda sad seeing a pile of trash in every corner of every building and in open fields.
Do you think there should be a magical force that stops people from picking up money (theirs or not) if they don’t pick up trash after themselves.

I'm thinking about dating soon and I don't know how to have this discussion. I wouldn't want her to feel self conscious about her looks or her weight at all, but I also don't want someone who only sits around eating junk food.
I want to have children in the future and finding a SO is a big deal to me because I'm picking someone who will give me that, but I have to trust that she'll bear me healthy babies, and she'll have the greatest responsibility of carrying them for 9 months.
I'm turning 23 soon and realizing my role in child bearing and starting to take better care of my health. I've been working out on and off for 12 years, but now sticking to a lifetime routine and eating less garbage. I lost 70 lbs so far and trying to quit smoking cigarettes. I'm also taking suppliments and vitamins to improve my genes and long term health. I'd like someone who'll put that much care into our future.
