My girlfriend and I acquired two cats during the 15 months we lived together. The older cat is about 18-20 months old and the younger cat is about 15 months old. The older cat is more bonded with my ex and the younger cat is more bonded with me, but both cats are bonded with each other. These are the cats I'm talking about:

When my ex moved out, she went where she could not have pets, so I have kept them. My ex comes around about once a week to spend time with them. My ex knows that I have started dating again and, when I get to the point of dating someone exclusively, I will need to cut my contact with the ex. She hopes to move again soon to a place where she can have pets. I feel a bond with Miss Ana but I want her to stay with Miss Kitty, so I will let my ex take both of the cats. And I will not visit them because spending time with an ex just gets in the way of moving forward.

Have you ever been in this situation? What did you do? How did your decision affect your ability to move forward with your life?

I guess this is a follow up to my last question. I was hanging out with my ex girlfriend today at work (we work together) and she was chill the whole time still. Since I dumped her she'd always occasionally try and talk to me or say something to me. I initially ignored her because of her shitty friends mostly, and because I wasn't sure if I wanted her back, but I now I do. She's apologized like 3 times now, and she said she understands what I meant when I said I was legit busy and not cheating like she thought 😑. The only issue I have now is figuring out how I should go about the whole thing.
Like should I text her first? I told her she could text me if she wanted to after the whole valentines day thing, but she never did (I think because of her friends) but if she wasn't at least a little interested she wouldn't be talking to me and inviting me places. It would be out of character for me to text first, and I don't know what to say

So my girlfriend of 4 years has fallen back in love with her ex who popped up out of nowhere. I have been very understanding and supportive so far since I looked at things from her perspective. However, if I look at my situation, it's really tough to be in. In this love triangle, there is a story from everyone's perspective. As far as I am concerned, I am unable to let her go. I am still talking and waiting patiently and making constant efforts that sometimes go futile. Future is uncertain. Someone give me the strength.
