We were about to be good friends like he would sit next to me everyday and talk. But I treated him horribly. Like extremely rude probably because I realized I liked him. So he kinda distant himself which I don’t blame. But still considered me his friend. I later told him I like him he didn’t like me back. So I told him that I accepted that and got over it because I don’t want to lose our friendship. So we still talk but like not daily and mostly over text.

Now months later, I see him glancing and staring at my from a distance like all the time everyday. Whenever I look at him, he looks away. Sometimes he stare a second longer. He also try to listen to my conversations with other people. Like legit stare at me as I talk to other people but never approach me to talk. I tried approaching him once. He was so quiet, didn’t even look at me in the eye. Only looked at me when we were talking. I know he still cares about me because he showed and told me many times. Yet, it seems like he so shy. He just look at me but never approach me. Even I still get awkward approaching him because of what happened in the past but I thought he wanted to talk to me? So I texted him and the next day. At first he was still shy, but then all of sudden he had this confidence to come up to me and he was smiling the entire time. I was like okay so he doesn’t hate me. We went back to our normal friends groups and I saw him talking to a girl he was laughing and smiling with her. I was trying to ignore it by paying attention to my friend and we all started laughing at my joke and I saw him looking at us with this face that I don’t understand and then he went back to whatever he was doing. Also every day at the end of the class when it’s just the two of us remaining. I say goodbye to my teacher and I see him looking until I left. Like?

He is a confident guy but with me he never initiates conversations and stares/glances at me all the time

We are in high school. We have a complicated past because I was rude to him saying he’s not my friend yet he dealt with the worst of me and stick around. I also told him I liked him and he said he doesn’t like me. So I decided to accept that and move on because I didn’t want to lose our friendship. We ain’t close so we don’t talk much. When we do, it’s over text and about me opening up to him about my issues because he said he always there for me. He highlights every long paragraph I wrote ranting my life problems and hope I have better days. He read all the crap I write on my private story and sometimes swipe up. In fact one time, he swiped up when I was getting ready for a date and asked: "Who are you dating?".

But the thing is he doesn’t want to be close friends. I thought maybe he doesn’t want to be close because we are not there yet. We don’t really talk daily you know?

But a month later he started acting strange by smiling a lot & staring at me all the time everyday, even my friend noticed. He always trying to listen to my conversations with other people. He never approach me. I approached him one time to ask how it’s going and he smiled. Now it’s like I am just a classmate. Didn’t show any type of interest. Didn’t even look at me. Etc.. Like? We sat together because of a school project. I tried talking to him but he said we have nothing to talk about as of now. He even caught me glancing at him and immediately look away. Only made eye contacts when we were talking. I know that he’s still care about me due to the fact, he becomes alert when I am talking. I also cried in class today and I saw that his eyes shows that he cared.

I don’t understand boys tbh. Why is hiding that he cares? He knows me. He can show that he cares about me as a friend like why you gotta stare instead🤨

FYI: his parents don’t let him date and how he also doesn’t want a girlfriend right now because he wants to focus on other things.

- I approached him one time because I thought he wanted to know what was going on in my life. He smiled when I approach him and said hey but when I started talking to him about what’s going on in my life. He didn’t say anything to me and his face was like expressionless
- He does this thing where he is really friendly to me one day yet the next day it’s like he doesn’t even acknowledge me
- He didn’t follow me back on Instagram yet he followed everyone else? I confront him about it and he said he didn’t see the request. I told him “seems like a white lie” and he left me on read...
