I'm 20 and my boyfriend is 21. We have dated for 7 months now but before we dated we knew each other for a year. When I'm with him, everything is so simple. Talking about anything and everything is always so fun, even when it is just about our day. We know each other very well now, we are completely unmasked, and I always feel at home with him. He's the first person that I've ever felt this clingy towards. He is one of few I have fun with hanging out one-on-one.
But it's finals week. I'm used to seeing him for a couple hours every day, but sometimes he has to study for an exam for a day or two. Whenever this happens, I get really lonely. My roommate also moved out so I'm in a room by myself. I have a friend group, but we don't hang out individually because we click better as a group, and some members are living off-campus so we can't get together every night like we used to. It takes a very special person for me to like hanging out with them one-on-one since I do much better in groups, and because of that, when he leaves I don't have much to do.
The hobbies I tried to develop fell through (making bracelets--I broke the needle. Got frustrated as hell) and clubs on campus seem more interested in spicing up resumes rather than actually doing stuff. I'm a little different, so are my friends, so it's hard to find someone for me to really enjoy being around.
So I'll sit in my dorm, watch YouTube and I'll feel guilty for wasting the day away. I get great grades and everything, I work out and try to eat healthily, but I guess I want to know-what are fun, cheap, productive things to do by yourself? I hate to burden him. Is it unhealthy how much I cling onto him? Is it weird I have issues with one-on-one relationships?

when i say special occasions i mean like Valentine's day, white day, birthdays, Easter, Christmas, weddings, baby showers, etc.

i'm the kind of person who cares about making memories and i tend to get sentimental about pictures and keepsakes.

i want to celebrate life events including seasonal ones as i feel it's important to enjoy one's life before it passes you by and have good memories to look back on.

here in japan it's the norm to celebrate stuff on that holiday, it's not really the same to do it the next day or the following weekend. some people do that if they're super busy with work and can't help it, but most people know the importance of celebrating on that day.

for example if you have a boyfriend and he's not meeting you on Christmas Eve, EVERYONE would assume that he's fucking another girl that night.

it's very common and normal to see couples on dates celebrating these events in various ways. for example Valentine's day and white day are packed with couples even if they fall on a weekday. so obviously there are men who care and go along with it even if they don't want to.

with this in mind, what do you think about men who claim they don't care about holidays and don't try to meet or do anything special even if they have time?
