Search Results: am i getting too old

Many of my maternal grandmother's meals aren't great but since she's an overall kind soul (adores my father and treats him like a son), we always tell her it's great.

She was never a great cook, but average to mediocre. Since she's getting older, some of her meals are now a bit burned, slightly undercooked, too much seasoning or the presentations are ugly.

Are we doing the right thing by lying to her that it's great and smiling? A couple other relatives and we have done that (except her my aunt; her other daughter... who is honest and doesn't eat her food) to avoid hurting her feelings. If someone is a very sweet person would you lie to protect their feelings... to not hurt them? In my case, would you lie too?
