Alright well, this guy in my class is mute. He doesn't speak.
Last year, I befriended him by asking if I could borrow a pencil from him. Ever since then, we've been exchanging little notes and I often make silly jokes during class (that was an unintentional rhyme) and he laughs at them, so I somewhat know what his voice sounds like.
A few months ago, through a text, he told me I was one of his three friends, which was kind of surprising to me. We haven't really established that we're (official) friends so it was weird to see that he considered me a friend (?) I'm thinking too much. :/
Sometimes he puts his arm over my shoulder, pinches my cheek, pats my head, clamps a hand over my mouth if I'm talking too much, little things. A few times he has even winked at me. I didn't think anything of it until last week.
I was at his house playing video games with him (I seldom go to his house). He had to go to the bathroom (he knows sign language [self explanatory]) so I was there and his brother came into the kitchen, which is across the way from the living room. While he was grabbing something to drink, he said something like "are you two together yet?"
I was confused and asked what he talking about.
He told me that Jason, which is his name, is always bringing me up during conversations. He also said that he thinks Jason likes me.
I thought it was hilarious at the time. Just the thought of Jason conversing is unimaginable still, and he had never shown any interest in me that way... ever?
We're just friends and I'm very happy with how things are moving along. It's obvious that Jason sort of broke out of his shell while he's around me, but that happens with every friendship.
Another thing to note is that Jason told me that he's asexual. So... I really don't know.

Alrighty then let me know your thoughts! By the way, all of my friends are set on him liking me. He is a super sweet guy, about my age (I'm a bit older). He holds doors open for me. He waits for me before and after class. He stares at me when I'm not looking and smiles and when I look he looks away and kinda blushes or sometimes smile and turns away. He brings up our stupid inside jokes all of the time (we have a lot). He makes me laugh. He walks with me everywhere possible at school. He leaves his friends to walk over and talk to me. He stares into my eyes and talks but will get nervous and blush but will eventually look back. He sometimes nervously laughs around me. He runs into things and blushes when he sees me giggling. His friends used to make fun of him for being around me so often. He teases me all of the time in a sweet way, not a mean way. He laughs and smiles a lot around me. He texts me every day if we're both not busy. He makes me laugh when I'm about to break down into tears. He texts me good morning and goodnight. He encourages me and tells me he believes in me. He calms me down. He talks to me all of the time. He stops and says hi and asks how I'm doing in the halls. He texts me and makes sure I'm doing okay and asks how my day was. But the thing is, there is another girl that I know he likes and took her to homecoming. My friends told me as he was dancing with her he kept glancing at me and looking at me. In the last thirty minutes of the dance, he walked over and said hi and danced next to me and the girl followed. I don't know what to think. He met her a little while before he met me. We both went on a long choir trip together and he sat next to me the whole five hour way there and talked to me and listened to my music. Oh and also we bump hands and arms and sit close to each other, pressed up against each other quite often and he doesn't scoot away. Please help me and give me some advice. He's super sweet and I just don't know what to do.

He said to his friend after I showed my art "I told you she is awesome" and he hadn't ever seen my work either. Plus, he had just did this earlier in the day (he came and sat next to me when I was sitting alone and everybody else was in the back goofing off... He came and asked why I wasn't back there with him and he made a joke to get me to laugh). by the way we also had to work together on a project in class the week before or so. Also, the touch barrier is already broken, he has put his arm around my shoulder twice.
