I read a question from a young user in which he questioned whether whether people fell in love in their 20's or later. A user in his 20's replied that if you do not marry your high school sweet heart, you will never again find love! To me, it is obvious that the older man had a horrible experience which scarred him and left him bitter but I was a bit distressed that he would try to infect a younger user with such a sour attitude. I responded and observed that most people do not become so bitter and I promised to post a poll on that question.

What is your experience? Did you have a first romance which resulted in marriage? Did your first romance end and you continued your search until you again found love?

I missed out on teen romance when I was in high school.

When I was 20, I got with a 16 year old girl. I convinced myself that I was her age (mentally and emotionally). In a lot of ways, I was developmentally delayed. And in a lot of ways, I was still a teen.

But I was fullfilling a fantasy of what a teen romance would be. But if I consciously was trying to replicate a teen romance, doesn't that verify that in reality I wasn't that?

For example, a teenager views him or herself as older than they are. But for me, I viewed myself younger than I was. Thus, I feel I was living an illusion.

I can't really explain it. and it frustrated me that i can't put it into words.

But I feel the feelings were based on false perception.
