By the way i would make the guy meet me at my college (a public place). The reasons why im questioning this is because 1. When my dad found out that i was going to meet a guy i met online in college he yelled at me was disappointed in me and treated me horribly even though he is usually like a best friend to me my parents say that i am too naive and sex trafficking is common in this state. 2. I only gave one person a chance on the dating app he created a Snapchat To talk to me , i talked to him everyday for about two weeks and he told me that we would meet up he ditched me the first time and then rescheduled (i was supposed to meet him today) and then just yesterday he ended up unfriending me out of nowhere and sending me this text.

I had a really bad feeling that he would ditch me again and i was afraid of that happening again but this was probably worse. The thing is i am sensitive and I don’t want to get hurt should i still try dating apps? Because i’m really shy in real life and i’m very Lonely this time I'm going to put that I don't want someone who will waste my time. I’m also a little scared about how my parents will react they already started comparing me to my cousin who is promiscious ( I’m not i’m very shy) and my dad didn’t even speak to me when he came back from work. This made me very sad i spent a while crying last night but now i think i feel a little better i’m still a little embarrassed though because i was arguing with my mom and dad to let me meet him but he still bailed on me

There's this guy I've been friends with for while, we clicked the first time we met and ended up texting a lot and giving each other relationship advice etc. There was always an underlying flirtation (tho maybe that is just how he is) but I didn't think anything would come of it because he commented to the effect that he didn't find me visually attractive (join the club!)

Anyway fast forward and we hang out just the two of us. We talk about relationships and how we are both single, our first crushes, plans for the future, relationships with parents, past relationships, siblings etc etc, all the "this very much feels like a date" topics. We get a food and he comments it's lucky we are just friends or it would be expensive for him. That evening when we text he makes a comment that suggests he knows im interested in him, which I joke around.

So now I'm wondering what this is. Is there potential here or is he just bored and looking for someone to practice dating with?

I like having him as a friend so I am happy either way but still would like clarity.

Early/casual dating can be so ambiguous.

I’d love some suggestions/tips on how to communicate interest, find clarity of how he’s feeling about things, without coming on too strong.

Met a guy online. He suggested the first date which went brilliantly - lots in common, laughter, good conversation. It felt like we had great chemistry on all levels. He told me he enjoyed it at the end, we hugged, and parted.

He texted the next day to thank me for the date. I replied saying I’d like to do it again, then he agreed that he would too.
we kept messaging, but no mention of booking another date.
after almost 2 weeks, I asked him when he’d be free. He mentioned a time (his one day off in 8 days), so we booked that in.

We had our second date yesterday. The conversation still flowed well, we laughed a few times, and spoke about some deeper things, such as struggles at work etc. we’re both nurses, in high up roles with a lot of responsibility. so we just seemed to “get” each other.
I felt more nervous though, as I’m starting to like him a bit, and I was also sleep deprived, due to a poorly timed early morning phone call from work (which I did mention to him). So I felt like I wasn’t my best self yesterday, so was worried how I came across.
He also spoke about his family and friends, telling me their names, explaining who was who, and even showing me a photo or two. So he was sharing some personal things.
3.5 hours later, I ended the date.

Im not sure if he told me whether he had a nice time or not at the end of the date, as I was feeling a bit nervous, so my mind was buzzing a bit. But I did tell him that it was nice to see him again, which he also said back to me.
we hugged briefly, then he said “I’ll see you later”.

24 hours later, he hasn’t messaged me and I haven’t messaged him.

I enjoy his company, and would like to see him again. But I don’t want to come on too strong. I also want a bit of clarity.
So I need to say something.
Any tips/suggestions/advice?
