I just finished filling out several applications for teaching positions. The first took over an hour but luckily I was able to import all the information from that district into application pools for other districts due to the type of consortium I apply through and that took all of 15 minutes. And after I fill out the application, I literally just click 'apply' on several different teaching positions and it's automatically sent. So I can apply to 10-15 jobs are once in less than 20 minutes after I fill out the generalized application.

BUT I know most other careers and jobs take forever to fill out and aren't nearly that convenient. I've heard that some ask for some information that isn't even relevant to the jobs or they require you take an online test that can take 45 minutes to an hour sometimes since most applications are now filled out online because many companies are ditching paper applications. And then the majority of the time, you don't even get an interview after spending all that time filling out the application and taking the test. And many times, those applications still require you fill out information like references, work experience, and description of previous job duties, even though they still require you send in a resume that contains literally the exact same information. So you're essentially repeating yourself.

Do you think job applications are too ridiculously long these days?
