In answer to my own question, yes I do (although I wouldn't get on that bus in the photo in this lifetime). I ask because a lot of people DON'T, which strikes me as odd, when the public transport options are often better than they are at home, and also extremely cheap (or in some cases free).

I live in California. So I prefer San Francisco cause I really love seeing the bridges and the water!

It's late at night, you need to get home, public transport is finished, and you can't phone a friend...

I drive a gas-powered car, and always have. However, I'm curious about the electric, or at least the hybrid, cars. However, I like to think ahead:

1) Am I using less natural resources to drive an electric vehicle as opposed to gasoline?

2) Will the electric "motor" lasts as long as some gas motors? Will I get the same amount of mileage as I would driving a Honda/Toyota gas car?

3) Will it be more cost effective over the long run?

4) As the demand, and therefore popularity, of the electric/hybrid vehicles increase, will the cost of charging stations or electricity usage increase because of this?

So I'm hoping to get an insight from someone who either currently lives in Australia or has done in the past.

Obviously Australia has a bit of a reputation. To cut a long story short: I have extreme arachnophobia but im considering a move to Australia. To put my fear into perspective, it makes no difference whether a spider could kill me or not, I would be equally as afraid. The only thing that influences my fear is the speed of a spider and its size.

On a scale of 1-10 with 1 being spider-free and 10 being the forbidden forest in Harry Potter, how close to hell will Australia be for me in terms of spider interactions?

Keep in mind that id be in a city, probably Melbourne.

Im only looking for answers from people who have spent a significant amount of time in Australia as opposed to people who have been there for a couple of weeks.
