My girlfriend who is turning 30 next month asked me when I am going to propose and I told her not for another 5 years and she said thats too long and that we've been together 4 years. I told her that I want to have everything together mentally and money wise before that happens and she says she can't wait that long because of her biological timeline. I understand but she needs to understand that i need money before we have a kid and a stable house. She said that she wants me to propose next year or go to fertility appointments. I told her I dont see the purpose in getting her a engagement ring because you get married soon after and I want it to be special and not a memory of oh we were so broke and poor.
