I've been meaning and wanting to go for a few years. Since 2022 or 2023. 🎪 👀 Could see them setting it up. The car had advertised it for a few days now at the mall.

Finally thanks to having some more free time and the last gasps of winter this winter, ❄️❄️ I'll go check out the circus. 🎪

Hooray, e-tickets (yes, everybody wants to be tech savvy nowadays).

I went to the Adelaide Crows game in 2023 and 2025 and I used a blend of paper ticket and electronic ticket. Who says Nicholas lives in the past or lives too much in the now 👀📱 📞 😋

Funnily enough, a random stranger I was talking to about remember the fax 📠 machine, and how technology is great when it works, not when it doesn't work. Lol. 😋

Resident Evil should be a good one for me and my old man to watch. Spoilers - below

Sure it won't have Alice again neither Paul W. S. Anderson (previous film creator) but ah well.

Enjoying my last bursts of winter '26.

Just pulled over, chucked the hazard lights on and due to low traffic and safe to do so, took some selfies on the footpath, then got back in the car. 🚗 Beep beep.

Let's go all deep here.

As a casual viewer, hell I'm glad 20 years later, I know which was the purer film.

And I saw the mid 2000s unrelated Flight of the Phoenix.

Let's not talk naughty phoenix company problems here. It's a real problem in Aust 🦘🌏

Fly Phoenix fly 🐦‍🔥 not to rip off Spacey's line in Superman Returns "now fly, Superman" or similars. ©️

'The chosen one' is a narrative trope in which one character, usually the protagonist, is framed as the inevitable hero of the story as a result of destiny, unique gifts, or special lineage. You see this a lot in Fantasy and sci fi stories.

What do you think of it?

Either to read about, get scared by, or you just like the concept of them.

Seems some Hollywood folk just don't believe in it. Hmmm : I'd beg to differ or I'd at least say it's 50/50. I mean the fans are the ones who'd buy tickets, you know, for the finished product.

Sometimes I wonder if you know a blanket "no" you know, missed opportunities. Especially, say a movie didn't test or tests and ignores - then it just crashes and burns at the ticket sales, well, that's a tough day and a rough feeling surely. 😆

It's a hard watch but worth it

Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II paired together for some of the best musicals of the 1940s, 50s and 60s.

How well do you now those musicals?

The poll contains seven (7) locations. Six (6) of them are locations where one of their musicals was set. One (1) does not.

Can you identify the odd one out?

Please vote in the poll, choosing the location that is not a location where a Rodgers and Hammerstein musical was set.

The correct answer will be given in a few days (Sunday).

BONUS: Can you name the musical for each location?

Not a huge anime guy but the visuals were some of the best I have ever seen. Story is bizarre but compelling at the same time.

While both of these eras are considered legendary for R&B, they have completely distinct vibes, production styles, and structures.

The 1990s was the golden era of powerhouse vocals, raw soul, New Jack Swing, and intricate vocal arrangements. It was anchored by massive, layered harmonies, complex melodic bridges, and dramatic key changes. Personally, as a young person, I just can’t groove or get into today's R&B music like that because the autotune sound is completely overplayed and lacks real feeling, whereas the '90s was full of pure heart and vocal power.

On the other hand, the early 2000s took that foundation and mixed it with an incredibly slick, upbeat hip-hop crossover energy. It was the era of futuristic, heavy-hitting production from architects like The Neptunes, Timbaland, and Darkchild, blending infectious club beats with smooth melodic hooks and iconic singer-rapper collaborations.

When you compare the two, which era do you find yourself revisiting more? Do you prefer the raw, soulful vocal technique and deep songwriting of the '90s, or do you lean toward the high-energy, nostalgic bounce and crossover anthems of the early 2000s?

Many books, which?

I learnt because nowadays (since the first Holland film) they're filmed digital cameras (long gone is film, apparently or even enhanced film a'la Blu-ray remastered modern type) - 🎥📽️ I for one watched the movie. I didn't see the first, watched the last two.
***Spoilers - it's a shame I learnt they film "New York scenes" in England and that kind of ruins the authenticity for me, who knows if for the actors and crew as well. And secondly, I felt the only strongest scenes of intrigue were whenever Holland was sharing scenes with - insert new 🆕 character's name.
👀 I felt that the limited footage between him and / they, redeemed the almost whole 2.5 hours I sat there - 💺 gratefully and comfortably mind you 🥤😋 🍿👌🏻
