Is maple syrup expensive in America?

Maple syrup is pretty expensive in the UK. It's roughly £6 to £10 for around 330ml. For comparison standard honey or jam is about £2 to £3. For a lot here it's an occasional treat but you lot soak entire breakfasts in it.
