I love Sushi and I love Salmon and Tuna Sashimi, when I don’t know what to cook that day, Sushi is my go to food.

I also love Seafood! I always loved growing up and now living next to the East China Sea, I often treat myself with lots of varieties of seafood.

Yes. Seaweed is meh. I love crab, too. The only thing that sucks about seafood is bioaccumulation. Farm raised helps get around mercury problems. But it renders it vulnerable to organic accumulation such as dioxins. Wild caught is susceptible to mercury accumulation. It’s why I generally eat seafood sparingly when I read dietary guidelines and fish advisories:

^^^I think conservatives and right wingers need to remember this a government run organization. I hate that the Left thinks they have a monopoly on environmental issues when conservatives advocate higher qualities of life.

I believe it varies by source and location. I believe most seafood sources are reasonably safe within their consumption limits.

It actually falls under the umbrella of the risks of concentrated farming in general. We have “free range” chickens on our property that probably live a better life than 99% of chickens to ever live. Our chickens die of old age. I once built them a prototypical chicken waterer that could control temperature in both summer and winter months using a thermal electric cooler, toilet fill valve, temperature controller, fish tank pump, and a Homer bucket for Christ’s sake.

Chickens that come from concentrated farms tend to be particularly stupid. I remember driving at night through Kansas and I saw a chicken that had decided not to coupe standing by the side of the road almost completely motionless. It was weird, like there was nobody home.

The eggs we produce yield darker yolks than commercial. The taste is slightly richer, but the same for the most part.

I don’t understand the link between left and right about Sushi. I do have liberal views in case you haven’t guessed by far.

In my country, I am considered a liberal.

As for your chickens, they are adorable, seems they have a foot fetish.

Anything can be politicized. Many of my beliefs align with conservatives but a number of them are hypocritical in my opinion. I see more hypocrisies with liberals. I’d say I’m “mixed”. People are not static, they are dynamic, they can be fluid.

We can discuss this further but it will be a long debate. I kind of get annoyed with identity politics sometimes as if you have to take a stance on every damn issue without objectively discussing it.

That book I recommended delves into the fundamental differences between liberals and conservatives. The gist was they both have similar goals, just different ways of going about doing it. All the while politicians want power. Direct quote:

Sushi is one of my top 3 favorite foods. Possibly my favorite. My favorite thing to order is salmon nigiri and sashimi. Though hamachi is a close second, followed by tuna! (There’s so much more, but I’ll stop there for now, haha.)


I read someone earlier mention the potential for parasites and that all depends on whether the chefs have out the fish through the proper sanitation procedure.


Wanting to prepare sashimi for myself in the future, I did some research on how to find ‘sushi grade’ fish and it’s all about the sanitation process to create ‘sushi grade’ fish.


From the United States official Food & Drug Administration (FDA) guidelines, which are pretty strict safety protocols, I found this sanitation procedure:



Freezing and storing at an ambient temperature of -4°F (-20°C) or below for 7 days (total time), or freezing at an ambient temperature of -31°F (-35°C) or below until solid and storing at an ambient temperature of -31°F (-35°C) or below for 15 hours, or freezing at an ambient temperature of -31°F (-35°C) or below until solid and storing at an ambient temperature of -4°F (-20°C) or below for 24 hours are sufficient to kill parasites. Note that these conditions may not be suitable for freezing particularly large fish (e. g., thicker than 6 inches).

So as long as the raw fish is properly frozen (which requires a subzero freezer), sanitized, and cleaned, they’re safe to consume.

Any proper restaurant that takes food safety seriously should know how to do this.

Anyway, I love sushi too, and I just thought I’d share that with you to give you peace of mind about enjoying sushi/nigiri/sashimi. 🙂

Yeah. I like the California rolls: veggie and imitation crab. I like salmon and cream cheese sushi too. There's a lot that I haven't had yet, but that's due to most having that spicy sauce and my stomach still being sensitive to spiciness. Imitation crab salad is good too.
