My last question on the correct alignment of chips in a chip sandwich seemed to upset a few people. Therefore I can't resist asking, Have you ever bought a chip butty from a chip shop?

A chip butty is a large buttered soft bun filled with chips.

I got into an intense conversation about world foods. A group of English people were visiting America and making comments about how the food was better here than in England in a video.

I told this person I was talking to that I believe every country has good cuisine, and great dishes, but that I didn't think that English food is or was universally considered to be one of or the best in the world. So what do you think?

Personally I think you need to select chips of the right size and arrange them in a single layer so there's no gaps and none poke out of the sides. It's ok to have them going in different directions as long as they all slot together.

I think people who just dump them in all higgledy-piggledy weren't raised right.

I feel like something sweet/dessert but I got nothing at the house.

Finally an important question

Originally created for the queen's coronation it's been a popular sandwich ingredient ever since. At it's basic level it's chicken tossed in curry powder and mayonnaise. Some put sultanas in.

In other words it's British cooking at it's best. But do you like it?

I like both but, butter is the best! How about you?

The Coronation Quiche contains cheese, spinach and broad bean and has horrified the French who insist only Quiche Lorraine should be called quiche, everything else is a tart.

Now personally I've chucked lots of things in one over the years, sausage, bacon, mushrooms and a whole range of vegetables. Basically what's at hand at the time and still called it a quiche.

Thoughts?

Custards a funny thing, it's really just hot ice cream when you think about it. Some love it, others claim it's nasty gloop that destroys the taste of the pudding.

You can make it from powder or just open a can/carton of ready made stuff. Of course you can cook it from scratch with eggs cream and sugar but that's more expensive.

So how do you make custard?

I saw something on TV where a gentleman was asking people if certain things were offensive and if their names should be changed. He asked if Cracker Jacks should be changed to something like White People Jacks because "cracker" is offensive to the White Community. But is it also offensive that Jack is a boy? Do you find Cracker Jack offensive? If so, what should the name be? VOTE BELOW!
