After chatting to a friend its got me wondering if im too friendly with my boss (he's 37m im 32f and we are both married with kids)

Basically, she saw me laughing at one of his messags and saw we share lots of inside jokes, memes, emojies etc and it got me wondering if thats normal.

We rarely talk about things other than work and we know eachother really well and i supose it can be seen as flirty on the outside (?) At one point he was messaging me on the weekend but must have thiught better of it as that stopped over a year ago.

What do you think? Its that a normal boss employee relationship?

He always tells me that he likes me and that he wants me and enjoys spending his time with me.. that said he’s been chasing me for almost a year now and overall we’ve been talking for two years almost BUT I don’t feel it I don't know if it’s because we’re long distanced or not but I tried to believe his feelings and when I’m about to tell him “yeah maybe I have same feelings for you” he ruins it right before me confessing my feelings he ruins it with his delayed ass messages that don’t even do much bc of how cold they are.. he never posts new pics of him although I ask him to do so and he just plays it off cool saying he doesn’t have any new ones which I certainly don’t believe.. He never asks me questions that show how much he gives a damn.. Never to dive deep down into the conversation.. never sends me gifts or something sweet such as a reel on Instagram expressing his damn love for me and it goes on and on… Y'all tell me if I’m tripping or he doesn’t love me like he claims!! Mind y’all I did once hint about me starting having something for him so he should know and instead of ruining it every time he should know how to win my heart! On the other side, he kinda cares when I ghost him he’s always the one to text first saying how much he misses me and how he can’t complete his day without me and when I did no contact with him he still came and left messages saying hope everything is alright and even shared food pics with me as he usually does, not to mention when I tried to push him away from me he insisted that he would never give up on me and blah blah blah I don't know but I’m hella confused!

He's been in and out my life for 12 years, we were never dating more casual. Then he dumped me, his words were we are done over text. Then the texting started to bait me to respond like want sex and even asked me to have a 3 some when I told him to eff off hed give me abuse and get others to give abuse, so I changed number. Then it was dating sites I used, he'd let me know I knew it was him,, things like *mine* you'll never get better than me *I'll have you anytime anyplace anywhere* in different aliases, Over 2 years hindering me from moving on, then it was kik, I'd delete his chats and ended up deactivating it. Peace until 2 years ago an email I junked that straight away.. Few weeks ago strange email address I didn't recognise so responded. We did chat and met up for sex then he went hot and cold on me. Then arranged meet up again where I stupidly gave him my address, he said he was coming straight after work didn't show, so I sent 3 messages asking where he was, no answer and an email telling him never to contact me again. Then next morning a barrage of abuse, how I was a rat, he didn't trust me, I had mental health issues and he said that he was putting an end to this pronto.. Please tell me he means it? I'm absolutely scared now because he knows I'm capable of cutting him off and now he knows where I live.

I like my boss. He is such a sweetheart! He makes eye contact when we talk, laughs/jokes with me, tries to invite me to work outings (which I usually avoid unless they're mandatory), etc. I know he's my boss, but he makes it a point to let me know he'll accept a call for help at any time of the day and wants me to call him when I'm feeling down... I joked about the latter when he first suggested it and accidentally chuckled in a sultry way, which he seemed to do in return? I felt there was some "tension" between us at that time... but that could have been my own "tension" talking.

I love that he's respectful to women regardless of looks, and I also realize that he might not be into me and is just being kind. DGMW, I'm not ugly... but I'm very aware that I'm not everyone's cup of tea... I've been reminded of that multiple times since I was young. Penelope/Colin relationships, especially ones where Pen looks more like Kate or Lady Danbury than Daphne or Queen Charlotte, are uncommon. I've also noticed my coworkers (mostly the women) acting funny towards me ever since this one time he told me he liked my hair. I can't tell when I'm liked because it's so few and far between, so I don't know if they're seeing something I'm not or just being weird... don't men compliment hair?

I made the mistake of dating a coworker while we worked together years ago; I wouldn't dare pursue a relationship with a coworker now. I've also been rejected by every guy I've ever confessed to, so I'm hesitant to put myself out there. I want him to make the first move, but I'm also worried, if he feels the same way, that he's too scared to say anything to me... so I want to try to "guide" him to me. I told him a few months back that I wanted him to "not be a stranger" with me after I quit, and he's said I should let him know when I'm quitting. "Tension" made me feel he was saying it in that sort of way, and I'm thinking of revisiting that convo when I tell him I'm quitting.

Asking this just by curiosity, I want to know if I got weird taste or not considering most women (in real life) around me don't find the guy I like attractive and vice versa XD

Someone in high school told me that I get rejected a lot because of how I dress and that I’m quiet. They also told me that people wouldn’t want to sit next to me because of how I would dress and that I should wear more color and wear feminine tops. Would guys more likely reject me because I would dress like this?

Is it because I'm not physically attractive enough for men my age?

Why would he do that and act nervous/shy afterwards. It seems like he’s a little bit scared of me or maybe I intimidate him with my confidence?

I made a joke about having sexy thoughts about him and looked at his crotch a bit, and he just looked down, went red and laughed, he seemed a bit intimidated.

I wasn’t trying to make him uncomfortable or be too forward.

He’s in his 40’s and recently divorced.
