Search Results: what is my fashion style dress

I was quite a nerd in high school and a late boomer in (too) many things. When girls were chit-chatting about the new beauty guru's videos on YT, I was waiting for the Witcher game and nothing else mattered to me lol Simply said, I started to care about fashion and similar stuff much later than the others. But now I feel like this style is just for young teens (14-16) or am I wrong? I'm not sure if it's just me (I do overthink things a lot) but I feel like I'm supposed to dress different.. eh. I don't really know how to explain it better.

It's like.. I'm soon to be 19 but what I want is to dress as a 16 year old girl, the way I want because now I actually have the money, a little bit of confidence and wishes to actually buy the stuff I want.

So I really, genuinely love dresses, skirts, shirts, and pants in this style. I asked my friends if they thought this was cultural appropriation, and they all answered no, that it's just hippie fashion. (Note, some of my friends are actually from Nigeria and agreed with the hippie fashion argument.) I really love this style, it's comfy and flowy and has bright colors and patterns that just make me really happy. BUT I am afraid to actually buy or wear anything like this because I'm white and I'm afraid I'd be appropriating African culture.

Please nothing mean, I'm asking so that I know the answer. I am actually curious and want various people's opinions on this.

Personally I hate wearing jeans and always wear a skirt or dress even in the cold as it just feels so much more feminine. I also like standing out with my clothes and would feel like I blend in too much in a basic outfit.

I actually really really like his theory on body types! If you are not familiar with it, then David Kibbe's body type theory topic needs its own myTake. Forget the rectangle hourglass pear apple orange strawberry blueberry raspberry grape shape body types.

I find his theory more legit than most other fashion rules for different body shapes and sizes. His theory kind of explains why two women despite looking similar and being same weight/size (equally skinny or chubby) still can't pull off the same dress. It is definitely very helpful.
