Who is Madara? Pretty much the most feared name in all of Naruto.

The guy was hyped up for a span of almost a DECADE, 7 YEARS, AKA he was hyped up for the PRETTY MUCH THE ENTIRE SERIES.

This is a longer build up than pretty much any fictional character ever. That being said, a character called OBITO claimed to be Madara, but he was just a decoy, a pawn for when the real Madara is revived. Obito then declares the 4th great shinobi war and Madara is revived by Kabuto using the reanimation Jutsu. Guess how he delivers? By beating the shit out of THOUSANDS OF SHINOBI. Then he ONE SHOTS THE 5 KAGE AFTER TOYING WITH THEM (KAGE ARE S+ CLASS SHINOBI) With his perfect susanoo (first perfect susanoo introduced in the series.)

He then proceeds to one shot pretty much everybody while BLIND. Casually tames 9 Jinchuuriki Bijuu INCLUDING NARUTO HIMSELF. The protagonist (Naruto) needed a PLOT DEVICE POWERUP from the sage of six paths, aka an alien with nigh infinite chakra, whom everybody thought was a character from a fairy tail, JUST TO CONTEND. Is there any reason why he ISN'T the perfect villain?

He also has a perfect villainous aura and gives zero fucks. The soundtracks and everything when he's on the screen are pretty much perfect. The author of the series even couldn't think of a possible way to take him down IIRC, which is where the plot induced stupidity came into play. He was eventually defeated becuase of black zetsu, who was supposed to be Madara's "will" but he betrayed him and stabbed him in the back.
