I'm not really specifying how they're divided. This is a fantasy scenario where God mind controlled all people to be separated into 2 and even people from the same town, country, kingdom and even family got separated. But there are only few people (you are one of them) who are all strangers allowed to choose their camp in silence or you'd go to hell. Both camps are pretty even and similar except the color code. For example, they have either red or blue accents in their uniforms, armors, weapons, castles, structures, auras, magics and flags. So which color would you likely choose?

An MMORPG game I play made me think of this question and that game has one camp unfairly stronger and with more players than the other. (not specifying the color) I joined the weaker camp for balance. But it was understandable because the stronger camp just have a better and fancier looking town than the other. Like way better. But still being equal in every other aspect.

The question is inspired by recognition of "Black History Month", and specifically the meaning of that relates to "African Americans".

Would you [anyone] find it of value to to trace your heritage back to countries and regions? Is that a tool that provides a greater sense of self and identity? I've done that to some extent. The issue I perceive is the lost connection to the past for so many African americans and maybe that is true of other peoples as well. Thus a corrective measure, and possibly one that could be provided... free of charge..., to those whom no fault of their own, had their identities damaged or lost over history. That is one aspect of "reparations", restoration of identity, now possible, by technology.

As I think about how people identify their nationality, very often it's to some large social "national" or "regional" grouping, which forms unique cultural behaviors... usually in accent, language, food preferences, attire, movement/dance, etc.. These are all positives of cultures that people appreciate, feels good, and maybe even provides health!

For example, I've met these people in my life when I ask about them:

"I'm haitian and chinese!".. eventhough he's American.

I met an AA woman, she was very German, but American!

I met a young man in a shop, dark color, with a mask... he's Haitian... I couldn't discern the accent over the mask. He quickly reciprocated my french in even better French!

Nationality, culture adds depth and connection. With all of it comes assumptions, but further interest.

Nobody says North American, few say South American, African, or Asia. Very general associations.

Colors when used... are basic, very shallow. I don't know anyone when asked to make a presentation announces, "Hi, I'm black and yellow... I'm a bee!" It makes no sense, but these are used in media, govt forms... as media is shallow.

Simple: What is the coolest/ most beautiful/ and or sexiest accents. I myself am WEAK to anyone with a high society British accent lol I am aware there are many different ones though.

I know the region has problems and the culture is far from perfect, but the region and culture has always seemed so exotic to me. "Temple of Doom" was my favorite Indiana Jones movie as a kid, and it was around age 10 that I first remember falling in love with Desi culture. I don't know how much I would like it if I actually went there, but I've always loved the wildlife, the art and architecture, the festivals, the Bollywood films and music, the women, their fashion and beauty standards, the barefootedness, their ancient sex culture, their yoga poses, their accents, their writing, their folklore, their rituals, their knowledge of math and computers, and recently their food. Also, how they've managed to modernize while at the same time keeping their traditional culture and values. It's not like I wanna adopt and become part of that culture, I'm not that extreme, and of course I don't like everything, but South Asian culture in general just seems so exotic and different from what I'm used to, but my White family and friends always struggle to understand why I'm so fascinated with it, especially since South Asians don't have the best reputation and the majority of White people are into EAST/SE Asian culture.
