Why do guys hit on married women, moms, in front of their kids?

was at the store with my son wearing a hoodie sweatshirt and leggings. I’m 39! A guy I dunno mid 20s is standing next to me and starts chatting with me about how he’s a sales manager or something at a car dealership! I said this is my son and started kinda playing, spinning, my ring. He then made a comment about how my accent was super sexy I laughed it off and then he commented those leggings looked great on me and how I was super cute and he likes his women tiny. This was all in front of my grown son. I said inappropriate I’m married. He said can’t blame a guy for trying. Actually you can I’m married ring on my finger with my son and probably 10-15 years older. I can absolutely blame you. I’m not boring or mean I don’t mind a cheesy picking up line or respectfully hitting on me. But I’m married once I tell you that stop it and apologize and never hit on a mom with her son present! Why would a guy do this? Does he think I was going to be impressed or attracted to him?

Gross behavior I had a guy say “well your boyfriend doesn’t have to know” after saying I have a boyfriend, like okay why would I want to talk to a guy that is fine with the fact that I have a boyfriend?

When he made the comment about my accent he said it was sexy my son got clearly uncomfortable and tense ya know but then he kept going how I was super cute he liked my leggings on me (you know that’s code word for I’m looking at your butt) then he said he liked his women tiny and my son was getting red. Like if you’re trying to hit on me how’s that Even a good strategy

Like does he think that’s going to turn me in and embarrassing and frustrating my sim is gonna win me?

You ran into a player. He's hardly representative of all men. Players play - by definition, they don't care about rules or boundaries or much of anything beyond their own desires. And, sadly, they're often successful. I'm not in any way excusing them - I don't agree or endorse their behavior - but I'm fully aware that they exist, and how they operate. Players are virtually all narcissistic - they only care about themselves and their own wants and desires, and they won't be slowed down by rules, manners, etiquette, or the shame of others.

You handled the guy just fine - you did everything right in fact, but you shouldn't be so shocked that such guys exist. You have to be aware of how many parents raise their children and teach them and treat them like they are special, and that the rules of the world don't apply to them. What do you think happens when those kids grow up?

Oh I know he’s not representative of all men or even nearly all men. I’m not anti men I love men. I just don’t get why certain men act this way

They are players. Their one and only goal is to get sex from a new woman. It's really not complicated.

It wasn't going to work with you, because you are a moral person. Not everyone is. For him, it's simply a numbers game. If he hits on 10 women a day, he's going to discover one or two who will take him to bed. You know those women exist - he's just filtering through women trying to find them. He forgets about the rejections 5 seconds after it happens - only the "yes" answers matter to him.
