Why do some men infantilise women?

Ie talk down to or treat like we’re children? That we must be protected and we don’t know any better etc? Because we’re small and petite?

Don’t get me wrong I’m submissive and don’t mind being treated as weak or naive by my partner. I love when they take the reins. But I’m society it gets abit annoying. Like I’m not treated seriously or I can’t handle an iffy situation so I must be protected.

I mean when you have statements like, it’s a man’s job, it’s a man’s world. Men are supposed to provide and protect and all of that it implies you are nothing but helpless beings in need of direction. If women weren’t, then there wouldn’t be such phrases as those said above they would do for themselves what adults are supposed to do. If men get bombarded with that at home it’s awful hard to not do it in society. Can’t just turn a switch. It needs to be a character and culture switch in women in society if you all want that to change.

Not just time. An effort from the women side to show that they are more than just being in need of taken care of.. yes, we all depend on each other. Spouses depend on each other. But I shouldn’t have to kill a spider for you because you are scared of things like that. That’s what children do, or have a honey do list of things around the house that need to be attended too because you believe that a man should do it, when it’s something a woman can do just as easily. I’ll willingly do it, but that’s the kind of stuff that children do, they can’t do those things, but an rational thinking adult can. But yeah, sorry I ranted. Lol

No one's been conditioned into anything, that's just the way it is.
If anything women are being conditioned into thinking they're more capable than they are.

I mean I can understand in some situations but I'd feel more comfortable if I was the one to pull the trigger, and tbh if a big percentage of women had the ability to defend themselves the rape crime rates would be low, or at least lower than they are now, I guess that would depend on what you are debating here of course.

Not rape specifically that’s another thing entirely with this. If someone is at risk or is getting hurt you help them always.

I’m talking about more in an everyday tone. We can’t make our own decisions or we don’t know what we’re talking about etc.
