Search Results: doing something romantic

I often find myself confused as to whether or not I’m reading signals from guys correctly, so I’m hoping you can help me out. There’s this guy I’m into that I met at my gym. The first time we talked was just outside, where he cracked a joke and then introduced himself. The second time we talked was a few days later, where he asked me about my name again and how I was doing. The next time I saw him a couple days later, he came and exercised beside me with a quick greeting. Last time I saw him was yesterday, where he said hi to me once again, but he was on his way out so I didn’t get a chance to naturally stop him for conversation. Is there a chance that any of this sounds like it could lead somewhere romantic? And if so what should I do to prompt that?

All the guys I had something with always contact me (not exactly in a romantic way) sometimes years later or they text me to see how I am doing or they like all my pictures on Facebook or watch my stories even if they have new partners. All of them come back in some way but I never received them well since they are in my past and eventually they also give up. I would like to know why they do that and also I have this guy that just left me and this One specifically I would really love to see him contacting me one day again. Does this also happens with you guys?

Me and my boyfriend has our 2nd year anniversary next weekend

Me - so are we doing anything special next week?
Him - whats next week?
Me - sigh.. nevermind
Him - ohhh yeah i remember. Yeah we will do something. What do you wanna do?
Me - I don't know what do u wanna do?
Him - we can go have dinner together or I can cook at home
Me - what are you gonna cook? You can only cook chicken
Him - well ill learn something
Me - no I wanna go out. I bought an outfit anyway
Him - oh. What did u buy?
Me - you will see it on the day
Him - okay. Well i didn't buy new clothes. So im just gonna wear whatever I have. Are u getting me anything?
Me - maybe
Him - oh shit. I didn't buy u anything yet. What do u want?
Me - omg just surprise me for once! You always ask me what I want. I like surprises
Him - its not a big thing for me. I mean we been together for 2 years. you're gonna get over it next year and year after that , etc
Me - no Im not.
Him - okay. Well ill buy you a card
Me - really? Ok. you're so romantic *sarcasm*
Him - omg you girls demand so much.
Me - whatever

What the heck?
Im so disappointed about this
Am i right to be?
I wish he would be more romantic like planning something
E. g. buying me flowers or putting rose petals and a gift on the bed
Something like that

It feels like he doesn't care about me 😔
Am I demanding too much?
