There's no doubt being single is better than being in a bad relationship but I find it hard to believe you can be happy single all your life.

You might not even need anyone but after a while you feel lonely and empty. Just having someone by your side in support helps so much. Maybe a partner isn't everything but I don't see how you can't feel its effects.

I'm not really at a point in my life where I can have a long-term committed relationship and I'm perfectly fine with that. The only time I get a little bit snippy about it is when I see people in relationships that just make me think "okay, but seriously, how the fuck are YOU holding it together?"

Usually these are people who have shockingly long lasting relationships. You know… Think like a six or seven year relationship being held together by a jealous nutcase or a chronically insecure camera whore, in their 20s. Nice and unstable people who have somehow been able to hold down an intimate relationship.

Like I said, I really am happy with being single where I'm at in life. I don't want what these people have, it just intrigues me that they're able to hold that shit together. It's like when you see someone at your job who sucks at everything they do and does not perform their tasks as an employee, and yet somehow has worked in the same spot for over a decade.
