Let say in your past their were people who did nothing wrong to you, they may even have offered out hand of friendship, wished you happy birthday, and were nice to you. Say at a university/high school setting.

Yet, maybe they won't cool enough, won't part of the in crowd at school, you wanted to distant yourself from them because you cared about what other people thought of you and they were social outcast. So what many people do is that they stop talking to them, maybe keep them as FB acquaintances if they needed their help but stop replying/ start ignoring their text, put up feign fake face of smiling if they see them in person but really don't want to hang out/talk to them.


Do people like that when they are older/adults in their late 20's and beyond ever reflect back on their decision to cut contact who were genuinely kind to them and just trying to be their friend for superficial reasons?
