I see a lot of couples around campus and even outside of school, some come from different backgrounds, others go through some hardships and tiny break ups, but usually they are back together and keep going, especially when it comes to women , they say women will leave you for a better guy evne if you're already great... well not that it doesn't happen but a lot of the women i met seem content with the guy theyre with and are not planning to leave him or end things... which made me wonder , given the examples i get to observe almost daily, is there even love involved when a girl decides to end things with a guy who has been sweet, caring and overall a great boyfriend material looks and personality wise?

P. S : iam not talking about abusive guys, jerks, door mats or the likes, iam talking about decent guys here, guys that are great all over ( no one is perfect though) ... so when a girl breaks up with such a guy she never truly had feelings for him.

I went on a date this week and a woman was telling me that she didn't like a previous date she was on because the man insisted on paying for her dinner, walking to her car, and opened the car door for her. She was a liberal feminist. She was saying, "Why would I need someone to walk me to my car? What is the point? I can do it on my own. That is so patriarchal! A man doing that is sexist!"

I went home that night and got a text message from my best friend who is a woman. She was telling me, "I am tickled pink when a guy wants to walk me to my car and be a total gentleman. i can take care of myself, but I love it when a guy goes to do those little things. It draws out my feminine side... I feel like I can relax because I'm looked out for... He puts his arm around you when he sees other guys checking out his girl, opens doors, carries things that are super heavy."

I am a man who is a feminist. I am TRULY trying to understand women and respect what they want. But how am I supposed to be a good man when women give two completely different visions of what a good man is?

Why is it that when you date a feminist she treats you with hostility for walking her to her car as if you are a misogynist pig and she represents what women think? We as men are just trying to please women yet we face vitriol for doing so!

Why is it that the modern feminist woman acts high and mighty as if she as a feminist owns the truth about what women want? Could it be that by treating women who have different views as "backward", they are therefore disrespecting their own gender in a hypocritical way?

A question that has always kinda interested me, A lot of guys will tell you that girls want a jerk, a guy who doesn't care about them, others will tell that no that is far from the truth and you can always be kind a get girls , not nice but kind, as in a person who genuinley wants good and is not faking it to reach his goal... dont get mr wrong though iam not saying weak or doesn't stand up for himself iam saying, kind and good.

I had 2 gfs, both cute, both very nice (well the second kinda hot and cold but she was still nice ) and i absolutly adored that quality about them, they were laid back like me and really nice and kind... and they chose to date me... girls usually fine me very good looking and are not shy about it but iam far from a bad boy even though i look like one and can act like one if iam super pissed (uncommon though) , i think twice before doing something cause i understand that sometimes people are going through a rough day/week and they aren't being as*holes just cause... even when my ex whom i truly had strong feelings for decided to end things, i was cool and nice about it and wished her good luck and assured her that its all good and its not always meant to be.

sometimes i doubt myself and wonder why i do what i do, other times iam genuinly satisfied with how i react to such issues, how iam extremely loyal and faithful ( i dont even hug another girl if iam dating someone... well i dont like hugging random peopel in general but still ) and aim to be a good person.

my question is pretty simple, assuming the guy is not a loser and the physical attraction is there, is being kind and good a must, a plus or a deal breaker?
