Hello there, just wondering what you girls think about this. The reason why I am asking this questions is that I have recently lost a lot of weight. I used to be a bit portly, but now I'm almost slim, I think it will be only a few weeks until I can lose the last of the fat. Anyway, as a result, my trousers keep slipping down, and it's annoying to pull them back up again. The usual solution for most men is to buy a belt. Now, I do own both a belt and a set of braces, however, I'm currently working a long way from home, and I only brought my braces with me, as when I was fatter it was uncomfortable to wear a belt (I also have a stomach problem which means I can't wear clothes that are too tight around the abdomen). I've also developed a very strong crush on a female friend (that's part of the reason why I wanted to lose a little weight, so I might seem a little more attractive to her, as well as to help alleviate my stomach problem and be a little healthier). However, she's never seen me wearing braces, so I was wondering what you girls think of them. I don't want to wear them to be comfortable and then end up looking really silly in front of her. Normally I wouldn't care what other people think, but I do care what she thinks. Silly, I know. On the other hand, as man I have no idea what girls think, maybe some of you think it looks kinda sexy. I've been told by a couple of male friends with whom I have spoken and they reckon I could pull it off as it would be consistent with my slightly eccentric style. But I though it would be interesting just to see what the girls think too. So, thanks for your opinions, feel free to add any comments and answer the poll!

Today is the day. 22 years ago I was born, and for the past 5-10 years, girls have undoubtedly caused me much more stress than any exam, job or dangerous experience. I have failed miserably time and time again with next to nothing to show for my work.

As I write this now, I am surrounded by self-help books, weights for physical training and all manner of hobbies I've tried occupying myself with, while others seem to be on a never ending carousel ride of relationships. My apartment is clean and tidy, much like the non-existent baggage I've managed to accumulate from my minuscule relationship experience.

"Just work on yourself" they said, "Be yourself," they said. 5 years later they're saying something completely different. "Relationship skills and career/academic/hobby talent are two different things." Well then... why the hell did I spend all that time working on myself, when it doesn't even affect my relationship success?

At this point I've almost given up trying to discover an answer as to why I seem to fail so often. So, kind commenters, while your cliche advice is much appreciated, just remember that I can go to any blog online and find almost verbatim statements.

I've heard getting a hot girl to be your girlfriend is not worth it.


Some arguments I hear from people spouting this who have been in relationship with hot girls is that they tend to have princess complex and expect you to put up with their behavior just because they are attractive. You have to deal with guy's constantly white knighting and staring at you and your girl when your out in public. Another common problem i heard is that when it comes to sex hot girls tend to be a little more lazier than girls who are average or even ugly;think lazy star fish.

So basically the general premise people are saying is that girl who are hot thinks their look carry considerable weight for what they bring to the table for the relationship.
Meaning that they believe being good looking should be nearly enough weight to bring to the table for a relationship because it elevates your status to both men and women and you have a girl with good genetics who can pass on those genes to your kids. So everything else about her whether she is boring, lame/selfish in bed, and has negative traits that for a normal girl you'd probably not put up with should be overlooked because she is pretty and not only that you should treat her really well even though she doesn't reciprocate in the same fashion.

Is this true in your opinion?
