There is this one guy that I have known for a little over a year. We participate in the same sport and used to be on the same team. Just a few months ago he moved and now plays for a different team but because we compete nationally, we still se eachother a lot at competitions. We used to talk regularly when we were on the same team and a couple of my friends told me that he liked me. Over the summer I hadn't seen him at all but then when the next season started he would text or snapchat me every once in a while. He would ask me wether or not I was going to a certain competition or how my little brother was doing. When this first happened it semmed like he might have been flirting a little bit. He started most of our conversations. One example is when I was telling him how much I had improved and how he would be impressed. He replied with "I like being impressed" We saw eachother at competitions and talked when we could. We are both shy so our conversations consist of general things (and sometimes awkward silence.) Eventually we started talking every day through snapchat and had a pretty big streak. I felt him losing interst in me so I suggested we meet up at our little brothers next competition. We did meet up and as the day went on, our conversations became even more forced and awkward. At one point he even talked about another girl. That night when he snapchatted me back, I opened it but didn't reply. He didn't snapchatted me again for a while. At our most recent competition, I didn't talk to him but then he tried to talk to me again, telling me small things like. "Good luck" and asking "are you ready?" so I replied and we have started back up our snapchat streak and small chats again. I feel like he used to stare at me more and be more interested in me at the beginning of the season. We stopped talking in the middle but now its starting up again. I know that he is shy, and that he is on an adhd medication. I just have no idea what he thinks of me. What do you think

I met this guy a few months ago. I knew he liked me ever since we met because I over heard a conversation he was having with his friend. I confronted him about his feelings and he confessed to me but I told him I wasn't looking for anything. I also said I wanted to be his friend and get to know him better since we only met recently at the time. We have hung out a few times since then and we text daily; I love talking to him. He is really sweet, nice, dorky, generous and he is always there if I need him. He's just a really good friend. He respects my boundaries and doesn't push me about a relationship. He will flirt sometimes and I think it's nice when he does. He will call me beautiful at random times, he sends me good morning texts every now and then, and give me advice/support when I need it. I feel very comfortable and safe around him because of what he has done for me. But I never do the same back because I don't want him getting the wrong idea.
Things have changed now though. I've started talking to someone new. I think things with this other guy are going well but I'm still not sure about it. I told my friend that I like someone. He basically told me good luck and he hopes this guy makes me happy. I know he is hurt though. It has been a few days now and my friend isn't talking to me as much. He responds to my texts but it doesn't seem like he wants to talk to me at all. Conversations all just die and he won't start any conversations either. Before we always texted around 50/50 and he would have so much to say to any topic.
What do I do? Have I lost my friend?
