So, last week on Tuesday, I was doing my normal testicle exam that I try to do one or two times a week. I noticed that my left testicle was at least double normal size. Beings I already had a doctor's appointment the next day, I figured I'd bring it up with my doc then, if it hadn't gotten better.

Wednesday rolls around, and the swelling is up more and I figured that I for sure had cancer. No matter what was going on, I knew that the testicle had to come out. If it was twisted, it'd be close to dead. If it was a tumor, it'd have to be removed before it could spread.

When I brought it up, my doc was noticeably concerned and she ordered an ultrasound, and told me the sooner is better. I went immediately. I'm not wanting to draw this sort of thing out. I had the ultrasound, and they rushed the results. I had been home maybe an hour and my doc calls to tell me that it is a mass that had virtually replaced my testicle. Well, okay, saw that one coming. Now what?

She referred me to a urologist that she knew has experience in treating testicular cancer. I got the call from the referral on Friday and scheduled my appointment for this Tuesday, two days ago. Went in, swelling was up more. And the urologist confirmed my symptoms are in line with cancer. He said in roughly all cases involving my symptoms, it's cancer. He set up the surgery for the next day, Wednesday, yesterday.

So, I went in, had an inguinal orchiectomy (testical removal from upper groin to ensure complete removal) performed. And now I'm waiting for more results. I am putting this out there so that more men catch this as early as possible. It's 99.9% curable. The remainders are generally people that wait. Go in. It's scary. It's embarrassing. But it will be okay and should be taken care of as soon as you possibly can.

We need to more actively teach young men how to do self exams and work toward normalcy, just as we have done with self breast exams with women (check yours too fellas).

I have worked with this woman (28 years old, married) for a couple of years. We have always got on really well but of late seem to have become closer, emotionally. There has been nothing going on but she does say the odd thing that makes me wonder if she has another agenda. I have definitely caught her looking at me in her peripheral vision. Lately she has taken to wearing fairly low cut, tight tops to work (she has a blouse over it but it is always tied below her chest and so open at the cleavage when I see her). I don't remember her doing this in the past, except on one occasion, and now she seems to do it practically every day. She has a chest that a nineteenth century novelist might describe as 'ample' and I assumed that she dressed modestly as she was conscious of it and didn't want it to be seen. This change could just be a style thing, it is summer so maybe it is just cooler, but I'm not convinced. Yesterday she put her head round the door of my office and practically rested her breasts on the doorframe, which made them even more obvious than normal. I had to look away for fear that I would stare.

We work in a small company so one thing I am certain about is that it isn't for another man at work's benefit as I can rule them all out. I don't think she is trying to impress a female colleague either!

We share a fair amount of eye contact and sometimes it goes beyond 'normal' but I'm never really sure what it means. It does concern me that she may be doing this just to get some attention rather than because of any desire for me. Is there any way that I can tell without asking her (that would make it very difficult at work so isn't an option)?

I think it's kind of unfair honestly. I always try to treat everyone with respect, regardless of race, gender, religion or anything at all. But when I see a female showing cleavage, I can't help it... it's like my brain literally forces me to look and when I do I get accused of being a perv or called other things. Why do females seem to wear clothes that show off their breasts if they are going to get mad if people look? It seems like a trap in a way... Am I crazy? Do other guys have this problem? Is it just my age and I'll eventually stop caring? Females that show cleavage, why do you get mad if you see a guy looking?
