Me and my boyfriend are seriously talking about me moving in with him. Like possibly within the next 6 months

He already expressed he'd like a little help with the bills, not a crazy amount though. I'm fine with that, sounds fair. But he said he's scared if I move in that I'm going to want to redecorate everything.
I don't want to change everything, but there are a few things I would like to add.

It seems like he's thinking a bit selfish, this isn't about just him anymore, especially if I'm helping pay some of the bills. If I move in, this is my home as much as it is his. If that's not the case, then I don't think I want to move in.

My ex boyfriend called me after 3 weeks of no contact (we broke up 3 weeks ago)
We lived together but after we broke up I moved out

Him - hey im just calling to let u know that im moving places now
Me - ok? Where u moving to?
Him - T______ so 30mins away now
Me - ok

Then he started sobbing and crying abit

Him - why did you leave me? You didn't even check up on me these 3 weeks.. its always me calling you after we fight
Me - im sorry.. thought you were still mad at me
Him - if you wanted someone else then you couldve told me
Me - no thats not why we broke up... we were too toxic for each other
Him - we were doing so good living together and then that fight you made a big deal..
Me - i know..
Him - i dont know what to do anymore
Me - same.. but are u okay tho?
Him - yeah

Then he had to do something
And he hanged up


Why is he calling me to tell me he's moving?

AVO (Apprehended Violence Order)
- Conditions of an AVO
No longer allowed to reside at the family home.
Not allowed to contact the protected person except through the use of a lawyer,
Not allowed within a certain distance from the protected person/s residence, work or school.

My cousin and her boyfriend had an argument
And he physically struck her face out of anger
It was only once
She broke up with him
2 weeks ago

She called the police and took an AVO against him

Then today he contacted her
- apologized
- he's thankful for what she's done for him
- he's moving places
- he's selling his stuff to pay off the rent etc

he's not allowed to contact her
So he breached the AVO
And could risk up to 2 years in jail for that
But she's not going to the police to report him because she still loves him


Why did he risk it?

After 2 weeks of break up and no contact with my ex boyfriend.. he finally contacted me
We lived together so we paid rent together
After break up, I moved out

He finally apologized and told me that he's moving to another place because he can't afford the place without me

I asked if he wants to talk

And he said "No I'm done but take care of yourself"
