The last time Congress approved a major renewal of federal highway and other transportation programs, the votes were 359-65 in the House and 83-16 in the Senate. It was backed by nearly every Democrat and robust majorities of Republicans.
This year’s $1 trillion infrastructure bill easily cleared the Senate 69-13 with GOP support, but crawled through the House last week by 228-206 with just 13 Republican votes.

Those defectors were savaged afterward by former President Donald Trump, hard-right Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., called them “traitors” while tweeting their names and office telephone numbers, and one of the 13 says he received a death threat.
The votes, six years apart, and the harsh blowback against Republican mavericks illustrate a GOP in which conservative voices have grown louder and more militant, fanned by Trump’s bellicose four years in office.
Growing numbers of progressives have made Democrats more liberal too, with both shifts fueling a sharpening of partisanship in Washington.
“This madness has to stop,” said Rep. Fred Upton, R-Mich., an 18-term moderate, who said his offices received dozens of threatening calls following his yes vote. That included one obscenity-laced rant that aides provided in which the caller repeatedly called Upton a “traitor” and expressed hope that the lawmaker, his family and aides would die.

Really it does not matter; if you are someone who focuses more on the stupid ass cultural war such as abortions, trans women playing sports or using the restroom, Dr. Seuss, etc. You should remove yourself from society no matter which side you are on

We need people to focus on the real issues such as climate change, the economy, Healthcare, infrastructure, etc

I am conservative and I can tell you without hesitation that Jan 6th was disgusting, embarrassing and evil. I remember messaging some of my liberal friends on that day saying I didn’t stand for that crap for a second. Conservatives were supposed to be the adults in room and that set us all back.

However I do have a separate argument that the mass media and the DNC is trying to fixate on Jan 6th and pathetic excuse to sidestep the exponentially worse damage BLM rioting did in all of 2020. Of course I don’t think two wrongs don’t make a right but I get what’s going on.

Anyone else ever notice when Conservatives/Republicans, Libertarians, Independents, and Moderates criticize a political candidate, it's usually only that candidate or administration and nothing more?

But when Liberals/Democrats criticize a political candidate, they not only do so in the worst and most vitriolic fashion, but they also equally attack and smear the people who support the candidate (s), as well?

You never hear, "Biden is an idiot who should be shot and k*lled, and so should all of the trash that voted for him."

Yet you DO commonly see, "Trump is an idiot who should be shot and k*lled, and everyone who voted or supported him should be exiled to Antarctica to freeze to death." Or anything similar.

Not trying to start political drama or anything. But this has been on my mind all day, and I find it to be true.

I think it is funny they are liberals that post links by liberal organizations, controlled by liberal sites. That is like the fox guarding the fox house and telling you he has no idea what happen to all the chickens. They won't allow pics that are anti liberal subjects. They censor and take down those pics. A pic is neither right or wrong , but liberals get insulted and sometimes they prove how nuts liberals are. Sometimes pics just make liberal look ugly or bad and they take them down. Sometimes they are quotes of what they actually said and they realized how stupid it was and take them down to protect the liberal so they won't look bad.

These fools say or even think Google is neutral , and facebook is neutral, and Twitter is Neutral. When all these sites refuse to post anything a Conservative says or as done. These site openly lie about Conservatives and their "fact checks" are even lies.

So, don't be a dumb ass and post liberal links that are completely biased to my questions here. Quit wasting the people's time with such trash.

Another reason the country is moving towards civil war.

Washington, D. C. is the nation's capital; that is a fact. Facts remain constant and can be objectively verified.

Donald Trump is an idiot; that is an opinion. Nancy Pelosi is an idiot; that is also an opinion. Whether you believe either of them is an idiot, and ordinary person, a genius, a clown who occasionally gets things right, or some other conclusion. . . that is based on your political bias and you predisposition to believe certain things because of your political orientation.

Most of our political beliefs are based on opinions, not facts.

My opinions are premised about some fundamental beliefs I have about the function of government. I want it to intrude in our lives as little as possible, to guarantee our freedoms, and I don't want it to take the place of parents in providing all of our needs; I believe taking care of ourselves is an individual responsibility. I also have an inherent distrust for big government. That leads me to being a conservative/libertarian. But I can't prove that my fundamental assumptions are "correct."

If you want government to provide a safety net and to provide as much as possible for each citizen, then you are willing to sacrifice some individual freedoms and you don't mind intrusions into your personal life. You also trust the government to do its job without corruption or bias. That leads you to be a liberal. And you can't prove that your fundamental assumptions are "correct," either.

I don't think you're stupid. I just think you placed more value on having a safety net and you are more trusting of the government. For two years, I dated a girl who was (and still is) very liberal and I NEVER thought she was stupid for holding her political beliefs.

How do YOU feel about people who disagree with your political beliefs? How respectful are you of people who dsagree with you?

I have seen more promotion of soccer this year than ever before. Here in US more has been on TV. News tends to promote it over all other sports.

The socialists promoted when I was a kid saying it would be more popular than Baseball, Football, and Basketball. It never happened, but here they go again. Now that Socialists and liberals control all the sports now.

Conservatives are on the decline, ever since the 1950's. but we will never accept soccer. I hate it. Boring as car racing.
