I’ve been shooting since I was 5 years old, that’s pretty much rule number one. When someone hands you a firearm you check to see if it’s loaded or not, round in the chamber or not and what type ammo. There’s no sense shooting at paper targets with armor piercing ammo, no sense shooting long range with hollow points, etc. the armored on that movie set may have fucked up, or may have done it on purpose, regardless responsibility rests with the one that squeezes the trigger. Just because he’s a mouthy shit bag leftist actor does not alleviate his guilt in this incident. AND Hollywood has long had the policy of not pointing prop guns loaded with blanks directly at fellow actors, due to previous accidents. The cameramen adjust the camera angle to make it LOOK like the gun is aimed at the person… regardless of all that, why in the fuck did that retard Baldwin have a prop gun pointed at the film director, unless he knew it was going to wound or kill?

Anonymous(25-29)+1 yLike when Dick Cheney accidentally shot his hunting partner? How many conservative red necks accidentally discharge their weapons at shooting ranges or while hunting each year? I don’t think conservatives have the market cornered on gun safety. Careless is careless regardless of political opinions.
04 Reply- +1 y
Once again deflecting. Cheney didn’t deliberately point a gun directly at a person nor did he kill did he? All conservative rednecks involved in gun accidents are invested and in some cases punished. In this case New Mexico has an unintentional manslaughter law that means you can be charged a crime if your carelessness causes another’s death which is this case
Opinion Owner+1 yI’m not saying Baldwin shouldn’t face consequences. I’m saying the rosy fairy tale you’re spinning that all conservative gun owners know how to handle a firearm properly is a complete farce.
- +1 y
@Anon: Exactly my point. Most legal gun owners in the U. S. are conservatives at least 51% of them which means a lot of conservatives make a lot of gun mistakes and accidentally shot someone.
If Cheney was a liberal and accidentally shot his buddy if would have a totally different narrative to attack liberals, but since Cheney is a conservative he calls it deflecting. Lol
Gotta fair man. - +1 y

Anonymous(30-35)+1 yWhether or not he's legally culpable, checking the firearm you're about to handle yourself is just the responsible thing to do. He's a producer, he's got a lot of experience with firearms on sets, there had already been misfires on the set, so he definitely should have been much more careful. Though I have to wonder if it's sabotage, the crew are saying that their treatment on set was awful, so maybe someone slipped a real round into the gun. Normally their are rules about actual bullets being anywhere near prop guns, they shouldn't be anywhere near the set as a matter of policy, so how one ends up in a gun use on screen is super crazy.

+1 yHis job is to act, there are other people who are supposed to do the checks. He was told he was handeling a "cold gun" he was practicing his scene and aimed the gun at the camera which I imagine is what he is supposed to do for the scene.
215 Reply- +1 y
Its a prop gun. I don't think there's even supposed to be live rounds on the set. I'm not entirely sure though.
- +1 y
Not his job to. He was told it was cold. It's a freak accident, no point playing the blame game now.
- +1 y
You obviously don't understand how movie making works...
- +1 y
Also preventable had the prop team done safety checks.
- +1 y
That's not even true... Only if you can't/refuse to prove the drugs aren't yours would you be charged.

"Generally, a weapons master or armourer oversees all weapons that are used on a production. This can mean anything from selecting the correct items for a certain period in history, to taking care of the weapons on set and making sure they are being used safely and properly by actors and stuntpeople. It's a fairly new position in the history of film production, going back only to the 1980s. Before that, the prop master handled everything. Recently, it's become more common to enlist specialists"
"The weapons master is required to be on set whenever a weapon is being used. The Actors' Equity Association's guidelines state that, "Before each use, make sure the gun has been test-fired offstage, and then ask to test fire it yourself. Watch the prop master check the cylinders and barrel to be sure no foreign object or dummy bullet has become lodged inside." Further, "All loading of firearms must be done by the property master, armourer or experienced persons working under their direct supervision."" - +1 y
The whole thing went against protocol. There were live rounds on set which isn't allowed, the firearms specialist wasn't the one who handed him the gun. Honestly the more info that comes out the bigger the mess is. A judge will decide what happens.

+1 yYou can't blame him for that. I'm sure Alec Baldwin shot many fake guns in movies before and nothing ever happened.
What happened is totally a freak accident that hardly ever happens and the people responsible for it are the people hired that screwed up..
Guns experts are hired on set for the sole reason to make sure everything is ready to go and safe, not the actor.018 Reply- +1 y
No no no. ANYTIME YOU ARE HANDED A WEAPON IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO CHECK THE CHAMBER NO MATTER WHAT AND YOU NEVER NEVER NEVER AIM AT A PERSON AND PULL THE TRIGGER. If you were a conservative gun owner these things would be ingrained. This was 100% preventable if conservative gun practices had been in place
- +1 y
Gosh you make my head wanna explode. Conservatives make gun mistakes as well. Humans make mistakes. It has nothing to do with liberal or conservative but rather the people who are hired specifically to hand over a prop gun for safety.
As I said Hollywood actors and actresses fire prop guns all the time filming movies and TV shows and nothing happens except for a careless fluke. - +1 y
This was not a prop gun. Prop guns are plugged and cannot fire anything. This was a real gun. If I hand you a gun and I tell you it’s safe and you don’t check it yourself then you point it at someone and pull the trigger and someone dies it you that pulled the trigger responsible
- +1 y
Point is humans have mental laspes and make mistakes. You cut finger with a knife, forget to lock your door or window, miscalculated the trigger push and the gun fires and kills someone etc etc.
Gun mistakes happen daily around the world because humans are prone to careless mistakes. - +1 y
*trigger pressure

Well obviously because it's a child. A adult was killed and people are covering the news.
You can't live your normal life constantly obsessed with liberals and conservatives. Turn off the conservative radio and TV. Ish is driving you crazy. - +1 y
Do you see me obsessed with liberals and conservatives or Fox News and CNN.
You think I spend my day and night worrying about conservatives? Lol... I have better things to do with my time. - +1 y
Because your political views mostly suck. Your politics doesn't offer universal health care, maternity leave, justice and police reforms, no living decent minimum wage, doesn't care for the environment, against worker's union so that workers don't get taken advantage by the greedy, doesn't want to tax the mega rich at a much higher rate for the success of the country.
Your damn politics doesn't allow a country to progressive to higher standards and living conditions for all.
All you care about is low taxes even for mega the rich and right to bear arms. You're stuck in a damn box of the ancient world. - +1 y
So well did your conservative administration of Bush Jr. did when 1 million people a month were losing their jobs and got us into a 2 decade B. S. war with Iraq under the guise they had weapons of mass destruction B. S. which was a damn lie to justifying going into that country.
- +1 y
Talk about lies? Remember Clinton shaking his finger at us saying he did not have sex with that woman yet you badmouth how bad a person Trump is? What about biden telling us the border is secure or the Afghanistan withdrawal was a success or the supply chain crisis proves he’s doing a good job or inflation is short term
- +1 y
We can go back and forth about all the bad things U. S. presidents did. Every administration did something wrong along the way in a 4 year to 8 period.

Alec was onsite, in a movie scene, doing the thing.01 Reply- +1 y
But he ignored all gun safety laws and a person died. Haven’t you ever seen the US Marines, the most professional of gun handlers in the world, a superior asks to see an underlings weapon first the underling checks the chamber that it’s empty before he hands it to his superior then the superior checks the chamber himself before he does anything else? You’re another liberal that wants to shift the blame to someone other than the one that pulled the trigger

+1 yReally? So you're turn this into a political shooting? What the fuck. Ok, hmmm... no right-wing Conservative has EVER been involved in an accidental shooting of ANY kind, because they're ALL members of the NRA. Like when Cheney shot someone in the face. Ok good. Thanks for clearing that up. Idiot.

Anonymous(30-35)+1 yLike politics had anything to do with it. It's the job of the prop personnel to make sure the equipment is safe.

Opinion Owner+1 yit's a movie set not a war zone and actors, directors, and all production staff are expected to be given safe props and equipment from the personnel hired to handle that stuff, especially guns.
if any charges are filed it will be some kind of negligence charge against prop personnel, not baldwin.- +1 y
Nope. Once it’s in your hand you’re responsible doesn’t matter how many “experts” tell you it’s safe. You anti gun liberals don’t understand this simple fact about gun safety do you? We gun people know you don’t trust ANYONES word it’s safe. We gun people ALWAYS check it ourselves. We gun people NEVER POINT IT AT A PERSON AND PULL THE TRIGGER. He’s an anti gun liberal and he didn’t know these things and he killed a person because of his ignorance. Let’s look at this in another way. You borrow a friends car. You’re pulled over for speeding. They find drugs. Well guess who’s responsible? You are because you’re the driver. Baldwin is responsible because he pulled the trigger
Opinion Owner+1 yThe courts will have the final say. if baldwin is legally responsible, he'll be charged. so how much you wanna bet he won't be charged?
Anonymous(36-45)+1 yHe should burn in hell and prison. Stupid Irish cunt

"You’re right he is anti gun which means he knows nothing of gun safety"
"and yes if the gun is in your hand you are considered the owner"
Uh no you're not.
"Check your laws"
Guns are illegal in Ireland other than hunting rifles/shotguns for hunting game which you need a license for.
"You’re another liberal idiot"
I'm actually Irish and a Conservative sooo - +1 y
"This was 100% preventable if basic gun safety had been used but he’s an anti gun liberal that knows nothing and his ignorance killed a woman"
The prop handler not doing their job killed the woman, a lot of crew had walked out the day before over basic gun safety issues - +1 y
"So you’re in Ireland? Then fuck off"
No thanks :)
"We’re not talking Irish laws mick. We’re talking American laws which is where this happened"
I wasn't talking Irish laws yank :3 - +1 y
Except you're not a professional so why would I trust you and take your word for it xD
In Alec Baldwin's situation who was really to blame. The armorer or whoever supplied guns & real bullets or the guy with no knowledge of such?
