I went over to this jewelry store and I custom made a necklace for a girl who I was made to understand was my girlfriend, or at least she was going to be. I don't want to get into what happened and why I thought she was, but believe me when I say that I had my reasons.

The necklace wasn't anything over the top, about $70, but it really is a pretty piece of jewelry, and I put some hard work and thought into the design. Every girl I have put this thing in front of has said that the girl I made it for is lucky, and that I did a wonderful job.

The girl knows I bought her a gift, but she has no idea what it is. Only that I bought it.

Unfortunately, the girl I made it for has done some not-so-cool stuff. Her general carelessness has taken the feeling behind my romantic gesture, and just made it feel cheap.

I knew that this was a possible outcome going into things with her, but unfortunately this does leave me with a necklace, wrapped up with her name on it, sitting in my closet.

What the hell do I do with this thing now?

I am 24 and never had a girlfriend. I cannot get over a woman's romantic past so I may be alone for the rest of my life. Plus, I cannot get a woman to save my life anyways.

It was heartbreaking to me to tell my dad that I may never pass down the family name. I am the only male that holds the family name. If I do not reproduce, I will be the last.

I can tell my dad was disappointed.

My dad brought up the idea of donating to a sperm bank, so maybe I can continue the gene pool. I don't know.
