Search Results: should i give him space

I am due to move out soon but I don’t know if I should act on this before. I’m very attracted to him but also nervous as hell around him. I’m thinking he’s into me but could I be mistaken? What are the chances I’m over-reading?

1) he would very often adopt a gentle tone and speak softly to me? And also touch my upper arm at times

2) he would sometimes tease me and have this dopey grin on his face while titling his head at me (a very contagious eye-to-eye smile like he thinks I’m super adorable - you know that ‘aww look’ when you give to babies/puppies)

3) we once ran into each other while out and when he realised it - he acknowledged me and then started at me intensely (I was passing him)

4) he seems to come around the common area shirtless a lot when he knows I’m outside - we live in a coliving space. He comes home late night - sees me in the shared space alone and would go into his room and reappear shirtless a few minutes later (on the pretext that he wants water /throw rubbish). I’d be working but it seems like a show for me?

Am I overthinking any of these 4 signs?

Seen this guy for a while, we speak for hours every day on the phone, we have a connection like I’ve never had before, like a best friend but more.

Haven’t had sex yet because we wanted to wait, cause he was sexually coerced & abused by this girl who then made a false allegation against him when he eventually rejected & left her, he had sworn off sex for life until he met me. He’s currently waiting for results of the investigation which has put him in a depression and struggle with trust. But he told me I’m the best thing that’s ever happened to him, that I repaired him and brought him hope and trust back in people, that he’s grateful and so lucky to know me.

He was supposed to see me next week and was super excited, but today all of the sudden he cancelled because his mental health has hit rock bottom the past week & work is piling up, he said he knows if he sees me he’ll catch major feelings (which I think he already kind of has), and isn’t ready for a relationship and needs to see a therapist. He doesn’t want me to be his emotional crutch (he’s been really open about his feelings) and wants to man up and take his problems on himself and said it wasn’t fair on me to take on all his downs.

I asked if he needed a break and he said yes and that he’s going to take a break from social media to recharge and focus on himself and work. He said he’s really upset and wished circumstances were different and that he’s really gonna miss me. I told him I’d give him space and wait for him when he’s ready. I’m just worried he won’t contact me again because he doesn’t want to bother me. I don't know what to do cause I’ve caught feelings he’s such an amazing guy and I don’t want to lose what we have & can’t see myself with anyone else. He was just such a breath of fresh air from a series of failed dates and relationships, & felt like I found something truly real for once.

Do you think he’ll get back to me? Is it worth waiting for? How long should I wait before moving on?
