So I started dating my now ex boyfriend last December. I was invited over for Christmas & he also came to both of my families Christmas' as well. Things were great or so I thought. We took couples photos with his parents & his brothers & their ladies. He introduced me to nearly all of his friends within the month as well. Only about a month ago I met one if his best friends too. I once caught him sending an old interest of his inappropriate messages but we quickly got over that. And then a month after that he broke up with me, stating we both had issues to work out (example financially & such) I don't understand why he went to the lengths of announcing to his whole crew he loves the most that I'm his lady only to get rid of me a few months later. He at first didn't want an open relationship or to share me but the suddenly he was ok with it. Until I went to a movie with one of his friends AFTER we broke up. He was furious & it almost ended their friendship. Why? And then he decided after the breakup that he wanted us to be friends with benefits. And he still KISSED & HUGGED me every day. And called me babe & baby too. He had previously told me he saw a future for us but if I ever mentioned a future, he got freaked out. Please explain this someone if you can. Because I am trying my hardest to move on but I don't think I'll be able to without some kind of clarity.

Just taking a pole. My friends and I were discussing how texting and online dating has changed the way we date. Our parents and old wisdom says for the girl to wait for the guy to call and the guy does all the work until they’re in an official relationship. The girl plays hard to get and not interested so as not to scare the guy away and to make her appear she has a lot of options. Meanwhile I noticed the younger generation 15-28 year olds seem to think and sometimes expect the girl to make moves or at least text the guy first just to say hi

Out of curiosity after how many dates do you EXPECT not want but expect to be hearing from the girl too. Provide examples of when it worked out or if you were turned off etc. Thanks :)

I’m sick of my boyfriend acting like he doesn’t know what to do or how to be in a relationship! I’m 30, he’s 40, and I have always dated older guys because I prefer an extremely traditional relationship. I function better and am a better person when I’m the follower in this male female relationship. Aka I do NOT want to be the dominant one!!! At all.
Plus I like relying on the knowledge and older person provides in a relationship. I like to be the cleaning/cooking type, and want him to be the typical strong man/take out the trash only type. But he never takes the initiative to start anything as far as giving me a kiss, holding my hand, etc. I got home the other day after a 10 hour day, and we did an awkward “dance” just trying to walk through a hallway when he was deciding whether to kiss me or not. I finally just hopped up and kissed him (a peck as usual, the only kinds of kisses we ever have) just to end the awkwardness. We’ve lived together for 3 years! And we’re friends/dating for 5 years before that, it’s not like we don’t know each other and it’s not a “new” relationship. Why is this still so awkward? We also are only intimate about once every month on average because it’s just so uncomfortable and awkward. The rare times he tries to initiate sex it’s always at the wrong time or extremely awkward and uncomfortable feeling so we only do it when I initiate it, which as a woman isn’t too often! I’ve been married before, and been in “live together” relationships before and have never had this issue with anyone I’ve dated. My previous relationships consisted of kissing/sex/ect. many times a week but usually more. Shouldn’t he just kiss me when he wants to and not have to think it over? why is he so awkward and uncomfortable in life in general? And how do I get him to “step up as a man” without saying those mean words? We’re headed towards marriage and I feel like I should break up with him because I just can’t live like this!!! :-(. Fml...
