Are race and intelligence, at least Math/English/Critical Reading intelligence, linked?

University of California, Berkeley, looked at 1.1 million applicants from 1994-2011 and found,

"More than a third of the variance in SAT scores can now be predicted by factors known at students’ birth, up from a quarter of the variance in 1994. Of those factors, moreover, race has become the strongest predictor. Rather than declining in salience, race and ethnicity are now more important
than either family income or parental education in accounting for test score differences. It
must be cautioned that these findings are preliminary, and more research is needed to determine whether the California data reflect a broader national trend."

You can read it all, but in short--they analyzed SAT scores on 1.1 million applicants applicants, and found that among the various differences, race and ethnicity are now more important in the SAT score differences than how much money your family makes or what level of education your parents had. And for reasons I do not really grasp, race has become *more* important a role in your SAT scores, not less. According to their graph, race just in 2010 or so became more important than if your parents are high school dropouts or have masters degrees.

Keep in mind that in these studies, Asians usually always outperform caucasians on average, before you say "the SAT is skewed towards whites!"

Me, I scored about 470/800 math, 500/800 English, and 720/800 Critical Reading, way back then. White.

I currently have so many bills I have to pay off (making crap money from my part-time job that only gives me 19-hours per week of working) and I'm growing very increasingly frustrated with finding scholarships that I can win because there's just nothing interesting in my resume (lack of athletic competition, average academic level, little extracurricular activities involvement). I've tried out baseball in my high school sophomore year but ended up as a team manager because my grades weren't good enough to play. I was in a AFJROTC class for my high school junior year but didn't participate in their competitions that they do (rifle spinning, etc.) I've been boxing at a gym since I was 15 years old (strictly learning and sparring) but never had the chance to compete because of my family and school problems.

Is there any point of me even trying anymore? Universities seem to be strictly aimed for people who are academic overachievers, good athletes or/and naturally talented people in whatever they do. Maybe college was just never meant for me. Well, all I can say is, fuck the college life because I don't feel like I belong in college for being just a nobody who was a crappy high school student and is now stuck with community college at the moment (paying out of pockets).

Education System One;

An education system, based on establishing the highest quality of education for all aspects of society, and ensuring that the education is available for all member's of society, under the narrative that education is a human right, a value and a virtue, that cannot be exploited for profit or any other reason.

Education System Two;

An education system based on establishing a profitable level of education to those who can afford it, under the narrative of exploiting people for profit.

Which System do you prefer and why?

I am pro education system one, and I think education system two, violates human rights, and is absolutely disgusting.
