I'm neither Democrat nor Republican, But an American. Here is what I believe.

Lately we Americans keep hearing both sides of the political aisle argue over issues like a bunch of little children. We have no really strong candidates running for president this time on either side of the political spectrum. I have spent time on both sides of the spectrum. My Grandmother a former Republican was a Democrat in her later years. My Grandfather is a staunch Republican ever since the Eisenhower days. I consider myself neither. To me one side is just as crooked as the other. The American political system was never supposed to be this divided. George Washington was not a member of any party as he did not believe in a party system. With that being said here is where I stand on issues.

  1. I am pro gun control, but also pro gun ownership. I personally believe in the ownership of a fire arm for: Self Defense, Hunting, Sport Shooting (Skeet, Targets, cans etc..), and Military and Police use. I however also believe stronger background checks, Mental Health evaluations, A no sell list to suspicious persons and convicted felons, and registration of guns are needed to ensure that crimes such as what has occured in San Bernardino,Sandy Hook,Aroura, and Columbine can be prevented. Although, It is very hard to exactly know where the guns end up sometimes.

  2. I believe people should have equal rights no matter their status. I will simply say we are all humans. I believe if a homosexual couple wants to marry then they should be free to do what makes them happy. Every gender should be paid equal wages regardless. If a Muslim family wants to open up a buisness, they should be able to do so without any fear. If Christians want to put a manger scene in front of their church, let them do it. If a disabled person with autism wants to work a job, they should be able to with proper training, compassion, and help from coworkers. It's sad we still live in a country where all people are supposed to be created equally do not feel and are not equal.

  3. Students in debt need college loan help and shall recieve it. Millions of American college students are in debt. I am no exception. I personally have $15,000 in debt. I believe in working and trying to pay it back, but even with 2 jobs some people cannot afford their current payments. sure we have forebearance programs by the US Department of Education, but those only last for 1 year then you have to reapply. I believe that based on income we should come up with a plan to either reduce the total amount owed alltogether or for the loans to be totally forgiven altogether.

  4. Seniors on Social Security need a raise every year based on age after age 70, plus Medicare shall be able to pay at the most 100% of a seniors hospital, doctor, pharmacy etc. payments depending on age and income.

  5. The big banks need to be broken up again like they were years ago. This means more state, local, and regional banks with less fees for consumers, less overdraft fees, and more security of a persons account.

  6. Less standardised testing, Give the teachers more control of the classroom, and the principals more control of the schools. I believe the teachers shall have a right to teach the materials relevant to grade levels in a manner that they see fit. Principals shall be given the right to decide punishment, school rules, and activities as they see fit as long as they do it in a civil manner.

  7. Minimmum wage needs to be raised to at least $10 per hour depending on experience.

  8. The Selective service registration needs to be disbanded. We have not had a draft since 1973 therefore it is useless.

  9. Hunting or fishing shall not require A license

  10. Voting age should be lowered to 16, The national age of consent should be 16, Drinking age should be lowered to 18 like in previous times and in Canada,Europe and Australia.

These are just my beliefs in issues where I stand. I do not see myself as a Democrat or Republican, but simply as an American who thinks there are some much needed changes in store.
