Now while I don't FULLY believe that, I imagine it's a good rule of thumb. But potentially, rules are made to be broken.

I've been seeing a guy relatively casually for about half a year. We started off as friends and we have lots of mutual friends since we come from the same neighborhood. I met him through a childhood friend/neighbor.

We have grown REALLY close but we'd both been pretty adamant about not getting serious. We've both been hurt pretty badly and we're rather reluctant about 'wasting our emotions' and time.

Yet, of course, we both developed feelings. We turned out to be a good fit on deep levels.

Thing is...I don't trust him entirely. He's confessed his past...he cheated on and played a serious girlfriend when he was younger. He's regretful about it...but after they finally split because she got tired of his sh**...he went pretty cold to love for a long while.

And now, after half a year, he's started to want to get closer. You know...indefinitely serious. We've already slept together. I'm already the type to not sleep with multiple people, so I can't say he's trying to simply get me to sleep with him.

I've made it clear that while I don't go looking for trouble, it WILL surface if he screws up and I won't even give him a chance to apologize, I'm gone. No bs. You can't buy me with passionately sworn professions, apologies, gifts...etc. He won't even have the opportunity. I'm out. And he swears he would never play me.

What's to cause me to believe I'm going to be an exception?

Have any of you truly 'turned' a player?

Any of you former players straightened out for that one special girl that you didn't want to lose?
