As a cashier, I can tell you that *most* people will say they want to add another item to change the total.

I find that option to be the most hilarious. Why?

If a number can actually harm you, doesn't it make more sense to see it as a sign, that maybe you shouldn't be buying whatever it is you're buying?

Instead of taking the hint, and giving up something that might be bad for you, or even doing it a little less, most people would rather throw more money at the problem and make it go away.

Sounds like a great marketing ploy! Intentionally price items that are normally paired so that they will total $6.66, but everyone will want to add impulse items as the end, raising profits.

I'm not superstitious myself, and I'd just hand over the money and make my $6.66 purchase.

Okay basically everyday after class we wait for the busses and lately I've been noticing this one guy who's a year older than me (standing only usually) looking at me and when I look over rarely we make eye contact and hold it but usually he quickly looks away. It's an everyday thing basically and a week ago he went over to his friends and I went over to 'talk to his friends' and he quickly got quiet but my friends (who watch everything) kept saying he was looking at me then all around and smiled when I talked. I asked for his email/number and he got all quiet and I smiled giving him my phone and he gave it to me. Before that when I first came over he whispered something in his friends ear and next thing I know they're looking at me smiling and I'm all confused. Well the guy I asked for his number he told me he very rarely gets on his phone so he probably won't text back. When we disbanded from the group my friends said while he walked past them he had a giant smile on his face talking to his friend. Just today though (because I forgot he told me he rarely gets on) I walked down the hallway and come out to the opening seeing him and he quickly sees me then looks away. Me and my friends stand pretty close to him today and they said he was kinda looking at me but his face was kinda red so he went outside. My friends kept saying "Aw sorry dude you lost your chance to talk to him" they kept saying that stuff. Then next thing I know while I'm looking at him I quickly walk out and tap him on the shoulder and say hi ) and he said hi kinda quiet. He looked at me very rarely and kept looking around with his hands in his pockets but sounded bored when I asked him some stuff and he talked kinda fast and would fidget a little then when I didn't say anything fast enough and looked away he just said "Cya" then I said "huh?"
