Suppose this scenario below:

Your boyfriend struck gold bullion! He's making entire banks! He is becoming filthy rich.
Now your boyfriend gets blinded by it. All he sees as of top importance are how his digits in his bank account keeps rising up in numbers.
It goes as far as him being consumed in the world of making money. More money, more money, MORE MONEY!
And for your relationship it takes a toll. He is not spending as much time with you, gives you gifts (hoping it will keep you entertained and that you get what you like). His mind is occupied with that green paper most of the times.
If you ask him "What is on your mind today?" he will respond "MAKING MORE MONEY!"
And if you ask him tomorrow the same question, he will respond "MAKING MORE MONEY! This is serious business."
And the next day again.
When you ask him "Do you have any plans for today?" his response will be "Uh, yeah. I was planning on working some more and keep that cash flowing in."

You have waited for him to start refreshing his relationship with you but nothing has changed except his banks balance.

At this point he is having half as much affections/sex/quality time with you as he's been before he struck gold. Sometimes even lesser than that. He is just so busy and focused on getting those green papers.
(Cheating may or may not seem tempting)

Yeah, the question is pretty much in the title.
Why would you want your parents approval for your personal relationship?
And why do you want to meet your partners parents so badly?

If you ask me, I don't need approvals of anybody because:

1. I'm an adult and I can do what I want (so long I'm not a criminal haha).
2. I moved out of my parents and I live alone. My parents are far away but reachable by car.
3. Relationships are really just too personal (and to some degree private)
4. I don't like the idea of meeting parents (considering the parents are abnormal parents)
5. Like I said, why would I need approval of SOMEBODY ELSE for MY PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP?
6. Really, do they have to know?

What I also don't understand and probably won't is how girls want to meet their boyfriends parents so badly and think, that if he won't introduce her to his parents or tell his parents about his relationship, that it's like a warning sign for trouble.
Like come on, seriously?
