So I was talking with some friends about the whole Harambe incident. The subject of human lives vs animals lives came. A scenario was brought up of a dog and human both drowning. The dog is your pet and the human is a stranger. Which one would you save? I personally would save the human, no questions asked. Someone else said that they'd save their dog hands down. I'm curious to see what other people would do. Who would you save?

Do you want to be with person A who wants to make you a better person and encourages you to stop bad habits, maybe you are a person without empathy and they help you have empathy, or you are a selfish person and they help you to become more loving and selfless, or you are an angry person and they help you to have forgiveness and peace, or you smoke and drink a lot and they helped you get off the drugs. Or you are a person who is money hungry and think that love is just having tons of money and they help you see what love really is (love isn't stuff and money). They reach out to you to become a better you.

OR

Do you want to be with someone who just turns a blind eye to everything you do and not care. You don't eat anymore and you are getting overly thin. They don't care. You overeat and are getting too fat. They don't care. You aren't sleeping anymore at night, they don't care. You are overly spending money too much and getting into debt, they don't care. You are hurting physically and something is going on with your health, they don't care and they think you are lying. They don't care if you become a drunkard. They don't care about you at all as long as all you do is just be with them and serve them. This person doesn't care if you like to kill animals or steal from the poor, or if you do anything illegal or bad. They would care less and they pretend you aren't there except for the times they want you to serve them. If you don't serve them anymore then they ignore you completely.

(I don't know if you guys know but if you have been following my questions, one is me and one is the husband. i. e. I am the low self esteem and he is the narcissist, I am the door mat and he is the argmentative one etc If you guess which one is me and which one is the husband I will like your answer with a thumbs up!)

So veganism is becoming more and more popular and I'm curious as to what people think about it.
I'm sure most of us know that some animals are tortured in slaughter houses and dairy farms whether it be beating the animals, force feeding them, or grinding up baby chicks, it exists. After doing some research, I've made a decision to continue consuming meat and dairy but only from sources with a good reputation (as far as I know).
But here are some questions I asked myself along the way that I'm curious as to what everyone else thinks:
1. Is there such thing as humane slaughter?
2. What are my effects on the world as a meat eater?
3. What would my effects be on the world as a vegan?
4. Are humans made to digest meat and is it healthy?
5. Do we have the right to kill and harvest from these animals?
6. Could I kill an animal myself?

There is this mentally disabled girl who's always downtown talking to herself who sometimes ask for food. She seems shy and awkward but I assume she's mentally disabled because she acts weird and i always see her carrying around stuffed animals and talking about tea parties and picking flowers. She even talks to the stuffed animals like a little girl would so I assume she's not all there. I sometimes see her at the park picking flowers and making flower crowns for herself and her stuffed animals. I remember one day after I bought her some fries from McDonalds because I saw her asking around for food, the next day she came up to me and said in a childlike voice that she made it for me and shyly handed a flower crown to me and skipped away. She acts like she's 4 even though she looks to be about 21 years old and I see now that she's gotten bigger that she's heavily pregnant. Maybe 7-8 months. She's black and she's kind of pretty, but I feel bad for her because she's homeless. She lives in a box on 3rd street from what I saw or sometimes I see her under the bridge having make believe tea parties with her stuffed animals.

My question is what will happen to her baby when its born? One night I saw her caught in the rain and she was just sitting there in a brown storage box trying to shield the rain, but it was obvious she was getting wet. I'm pretty sure a baby can't live in those conditions, and she looks like she will give birth soon. I'm not even sure if she realizes she's pregnant.

Also is it even legal to sleep with someone with her mental capacity? Was she raped? I was under the assumption that people who were mentally incompetent couldn't consent to sex.

I personally don't have any money to help the girl, but would you help her? What would you do in this situation? Please go in depth on what you would do or if you would even care at all.
